Hey everyone! Today, I was directed to to these fantastic textures:[link]
And I thought, hmm, these would make some great brushes! So this pack has a few cool grungey paper brushes, as well as other random brushes. I also included Ripple from the last pack, because I don't know if I fixed it correctly. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the brushes!
If you have problems installing or using, check out my tutorial, and previous questions I've answered! I am NOT a master of SAI, and generally, I have no answers to your problem! I'm really sorry!
Installation Instructions
1. Download and unzip the set
2. Copy all the BMP images (other than the preview
) 3. Paste them in your Blotmaps folder in the SAI folder
4. Copy start-sai.exe (if you don't have it already)
5. Paste it in the same folder as sai.exe (one level up from the blotmaps folder)
6. Run start-sai.exe
7. The new brushes can be used by selecting them from the menu underneath "Density," where it says "Simple Circle" by default.
More detailed instructions can be found in the Read Me, PLEASE read that before asking me!
Important Note
See that little number right next to the brush drop down menu? Play around with that. Different brushes work better under different settings. For example, I like to use the Script brush at 100, and I like to use the Bark brush at 50. But using Bark at 100 can produce a splatter effect, which is pretty cool.

This will not work unless you also type each .bmp texture to brushform.conf
I actually wonder why this is not being said in the actual tutorial, definitely need to include it there.

You already are in your sai folder. Do not open any further folders and simply paste start-sai.exe there.Β

I downloaded these and even followed instructions. Its coming up in my sai, but when i use my brush its just like a normal brush and none of the textures are added to it. Not sure why. :c

Some how it doesnt work i copied all the bmp. files and runΒ start-sai.exe but there were no new brushes.

it didn't work for me at first, you have to open sai from the " start Β sai " button in the sai folder, if you just open sai normally it wont activate them! hope this helps!

A bit late, but I was still wondering does this pack include lineart and sketching brushes?

Ah nah it's fine ^^
you can basically use any brush for lineart and sketching.
Sometimes people see someone else's sai and see "sketching" or something's else, it spusually because they renamed it and not because of the brush they downloaded (if that helps?).
These are brush textures (or from what I got) so you get grass, broken ground, etc. I typically only use them for effect tho, not sketching or lineart.

I watch tutorials on youtube, and the brush they use for lineart, I don't have it, do I have to download it? If yes, where?
The same goes for sketching, where do people find these brushes? Do they make them? I tried making one for lineart, and it did not look how it looked on the picture of the tutorial xD So I'm confused. This picture for example: eloquent-phony.tumblr.com/imag⦠just how did they get that lineart brush? That's the one I tried to make, but it just looked like the normal brush that you have >.<

Okay so I'm looking at the post, they seem like regular SAI brushes, I'm sure you won't need to download anything.
When you click on a tool you get all these settings. Each brush has different options.
So I don't know which brush is which on here, I suggest playing around with it until you get the same settings. When you find the brush kind, copy the settings from the post to your SAI (for example if my brush has a min. density of 30, I'll want to change it to 0 as in the post).
This pack above is just like if you draw a line and set it as grass, it will look like grass but also your brush. This is a whole different scenario.

Hey there! I was wondering if I could request/commission brushes from you? Or you could tell me how to make them, either way....
I've been absolutely DESPERATE for some brushes that mimic real life paint brushes, like a 1 inch, 2 inch, fan brush, etc, etc... but after a few weeks of searching I've nearly given up. So I decided to finally ask someone to make some lol.
If you could help me I'd most appreciate it!

I've come to notice that SAI only uses 50 items on each folder. It's working though..

Depends on how you use them. If you're creative enough, it could go either way, but I think it is for branches.Β

sai.exe is not a folder, it's the thing that you click to open sai.

i messed up kinda a lot on that last comment..um what i meant was that i didn't have the start-sai.exe thing
and even though u included it in the .ZIP file ,whenever i click it it comes up telling me that my trial has ended
i bought the full version already...so idk..i mean all i wanted were some new brushes but whats the point in having them if i can save what i make...
do you by chance know how to help a poor soul out.. D
