Alexei had never been a hard wolf to read. Much of the time he was a jumpy thing, almost afraid of his own shadow, and any misery he might be feeling was wrought plain across his face. However, when the summer breeze began to chill and the color of the land shifted, Lexi seemed to become a whole new wolf. He adored the autumn season, the colorful hues and the crunch of fallen leaves beneath his paws. Today would not be the first time, nor would it be the last, that Alexei bolted joyfully through the trees and snapped up the leaves as they fell. It was only when the sun began to set that he was satisfied with his catch, bringing the leafy quarry home to adorn his nest and decorate his den.
