I'm pretty sure it's established that they are good friends. It's too bad that something like this will automatically be called romantic and shoved down our throats, at least by Cheerimac shippers.

It still is because I'm still here. When I get back, I'll do Mavis/Toby's Tightrope MLP crossover. It was also fill in things that we were not told in the 1st story. Like, we were never told where Mavis was in her absents from the quarry or how the workmen got to the bridge in the 1st place.

In the railway series, the narrator said that Mavis brought the workmen. But, for one, I didn't see a coach in the background, and they couldn't have all got into Mavis's cab.
But, whatever. This is still my favourite 2 parter in the Thomas and friends series.
