Description Imagine yourself in an unknown land, back then in time, where dragons were flying in the air, crystal grew in the grass, fairies travelling the country using their magic, and salamanders and other lizards being able to change into precious looking emeralds.

This would be the time, when Toby, Sylvana and Lolly didn't even know each other, in fact, Sylvana and Toby merely met, scouring and exploring the forest (discovering two fairies on the way ), whilst Lolly (being the teal-coloured fairy-kitty on the right), unbeknown to them, would scamper, well hidden, from scrub to scrub, trying to figure out who the two strangers, exploring 'her' forest, were (and of course, as a fairy she would be really shy, careful not to be discovered, but at the same time curious to find out what's happening and why they were there).
No idea whether she would actually show up and greet them (and probably wouldn't take a closer look before dusk, even) - but who wouldn't want a fairy kitty on their side in an enchanted forest?

The size is pretty large, I know, I scaled it down to a little less than half the size and figured sizing it down more would lose a lot more details - so apologizes if you had to scroll (which is likely ^^). The eye-styles of Lolly and Sylvana don't quite match, I'm aware of that, but that's mainly because I cannot imagine Sylvana with huge eyes, and likewise I can't imagine Lolly with small ones Oh - and Lolly has no collar here, she's a free fairy-kitty XP - but she does have a little diamond around her neck, on a string.

Lolly belongs to =Christmaslolly , Sylvana belongs to *ChocolateCoveredLupe , both very nice artists on deviantArt ^-^

Kawaii

Wow, exelent use of color & Detail overload

Good job on the story line to go along with it

Diffrent sized eyes are common in anime, and you did a great job on them

And the size is perfect... Kinda a pain looking at "small" images all day on my 1600x1200 monitor ^^

I can only imagine how long this picture would have taken to draw

Another beautiful work Toby. So full of little details it will take me quite awhile to study it all and let it sink in.

Is this the garden of paradise? He he the reason I ask, is because of the snake on the branch and nearby apples...it reminds me of Adam & Eve. Like I mentioned before I love the little details like the spiderweb, ladybug, the castle/fortress in the background, the bees, etc, etc. It's all beautifully done and really gives this painting character.

The characters looks as great and furry as ever...personally I don't see a problem with the eyes being different on the two characters you mention. They both look great. I love the little furry fairies...theyre just so darn cute.

There are a few things I would like to point out: The characters have no shadows. Are they vampires? lol, I do think they could do with shadows as it would just make the scene that more believable.
The other thing is the round ball like object near the mole, I don't understand what it is...I will probably kick myself when you tell me.

Overall this is a great enchanted forest full of magic and and a sprinkle of fairydust
Great Work.

Very nice use of texture effects, especially with the background and the fur/scales on the animals :3 The background itself amazes me so much, the details you put into it (refer to that rose bush: the LEAVE OH THE LEAVES ) and all those little tiny objects in different parts that seem irrational but add this little thing to the whole image that kind of puts the background and foreground into place~ amazing job there, very well done with the lighting on all the glowy objects, and with the lighting in general
I think you're right about the eyes :D Some characters just dont look right if a different style is applied, and in this case I think you made the right descision because the eyes give the characters very different personalities which makes the whole thing look much more realistic :3
I would also like to point out that your colouring job whacks me straight off my chair XD Its definitely something I'd see in a childrens book, such bold colours and very well put together (as in there are no awful colour contrasts )

I do hope you're enjoying your vacation, even though we all miss you so much! Come back soon!

Holy cow.. hopefully you had fun doing the leaves... those can be quite addicting at times for me, but wow... such wonderful quality and quantity. And for some reason the tree behind you reminds me of a banana tree, just with the shapes of all the things on there... and they could be green because they've just started growing... but I could be very off with that. Though I don't know why the tree'd be shaped like that (Kind of have a curl look since the missing middle's a little rounded off) but I'm sure you'd know why. All the other things in the background look wonderful though, all the plants and mushrooms have so much color, and none too similar to another either. Like, the darker violet mushrooms really fit in the area of the inner tree trunk, while the mushrooms on the other side of the picture are bright and colorful, and also match the jewel right next to it... and the flowers all range from orange, to pink, and a very vivid light blue... all of them being scattered around the picture kind of brought out a lot of life to the picture. The coins look very nice, you've got the side detail down right and everything, but even though they don't seem to be as well rounded as the crystal (Which would be hard since the coins are on their side) they still look like they'd be fun drawing... shines turned out just fine though. Though it'd be odd seeing that clear crystal with a base attatched to it out in a forest, I still like how the base turned out, and the crystal's texture makes it look like it was just welded, but a little unsmooth since there are unclear parts to it... just looks a bit odd to be. But that aside this turned out just wonderful Tobers, so bright, colorful, and well done... as always.

Well, first off I must congractulate you on this picture. The way you've brought the characters into the foreground with reference to the background with such elegant intensity is truly great. Even the small details such as the snake having eaten the apple was a very nice feature to see in this. I'm glad you put it forward into the prints and I hope someone is lucky enough to have a print from you.

Oh boy, what happened to you? Almost five months ago we were actually talking a good relationship (even if it was through notes) and you just... stopped. Poof, never said a thing to me sense. Hell, not even replied to the question I had asked you. (Which I then found the answer to a couple weeks later.) I really started to question you when I didn't see your name on my Watched List a couple weeks ago. You were still here, but you never talked to me.

^^^ That sounds too much like I have some serious issues, hyuk hyuk. 'Eh.

ANYWAYS... I'll start at the bottom-right and go counter-clockwise. First thing off is that I the dirt trail is a hit and miss. It's a hit because it looks swell with the texture and whatnot. Miss because the white "scratches" on it. You probably have a reason for it and all, but I think the pic would look more appealing without it. My habit of picking at smaller things grew significantly over time, but I'll leave the coins and the 'shroom spots alone. The plants are good as well, but something about their bases and the grass it's connect doesn't seem to click. My guess would be that the grass look blurry and the plants look solid. Mega bonus points goes out to leaves and everything else on the right side. I'd kill for that amount of paitence to do something like that. Seriously, I would.

Going left now across the top half The same for the last part about the leaves can go here, which now ups my Killing Intent Level to 2. Mega kudos goes out the tree branch texture and it's textureness.... Yeah. The sky's alright- it's good, but nothing really "OMG wow!" Herb the Herbivorous Snake is also snazzy. The thing I said about the dirt trail can apply to the bush (if that is one) as well. Hit because it looks good- TOO good. Miss simply because I don't know what that's supposed to be. A tree? A bush? I dunno, I'll change that once I get some verification on that. The castle in the back is spiffy even if it does has some symmetrical and alignment errors, but it's good nonetheless.

Yes, I said Herb the Herbivorous Snake.

Working our way back down, the hills are great. Good use of transition on that. The edges on the branch aren't that hot. Why? Blurry and/or smudgy. If it were more solid to show it was more in the foreground, it'd be set. You went outside the lines when coloring your head, it's mainly on the hair on the outer edges if you're wondering. Everything from that spot on down looks splending.

Now for the Super Spiffy Center! (or Centre) The only thing I wanna pick at here is that Sylvana's (if that's the name) eye(s) look like buttons. But that's more of a personal quirk I've already seemed to have. The hat she has on reminds me of Pac-Man a lot. So um... yeah. Personally I wouldn't put this as a Print just yet simply becaus of that blurb on Toby's head. (It shouldn't be too hard to clean up, if at all.)

Overall: Awesomeness. Awesome awesome awesome.

Your work never ceases to amaze me, Toby.

The colors are rich and vibrant, very eye catching. The amount of detail is supurb, from the fur of the characters to the textures in the hat and cape. The whole piece feels so dreamy and calm. Like walking to an enchanted land, and getting swept away by the magic within. The castle in the background really helps to draw the eye in from the forground and make the viewer look deeper for hidden treasures. Jewels, mushrooms, adorable creatures, and an overall feeling of complete happiness.

Wow, this is amazing! I'm serious, your art improves so much with each picture...on each one I think, "This has to be the best anyone can ever do!" But you always manage to prove me wrong on the next submission. X3 This is definetely your most detailed piece yet(and I'm viewing with Firefox, so I see everything). They're all so cute and really add a lot to the picture(the apple in the snake, the fairies, the crystals and diamonds, the hidden wand, etc). The lizard and mole are adorable too, and the purple mushrooms are beautiful. They just really caught my attention, for some reason. ^^ You did an awesome job on the characters and caprtured their expressions perfectly(Tobias and Sylvana looking happy and adventurous, and Lolly looking confused and even curious about the newcomers). Sylvana reminds me a little bit of Lenore here, because the floppy ear and red eye. The teeth make her look somewhat fierce, but also more wolf-like, so I'd say it's a good addition.

As for critiques; I can barely find any Aside from Sylvana having no earrings(unless that was intentional, or did you forget them? Then again, maybe she didn't get them yet). There are a few spots on Toby's hair where it seems the color passes beyond the outline, but it's hardly noticeable. And the ladybug must be a bit large since they're usually so tiny, but since this is a magical forest, anything goes. ;3 So once again, you did an outstanding job and I know they'll love it*...I sure do ^-^

Toby, this is too cute

I really like the expressions but Tobias' eyes look a little odd... As if they're not on the right sort of angle, if you can see what I mean. Lolly and Sylvana's eyes look so cute though! I love the difference in the two pairs of eyes. It really gives them a look of unique-ness, and it also shows that you're not restricted to one style

I also really like the texture in Tobias' cape! [grins] However it doesn't appear natural. Unless it's joined to the little knot at the front with string, there should be some of the fabric hanging over his shoulders. ...Do seals have shoulders? [o_O]

I'm still astounded by the amount of detail there is in this picture! It's just ...wow! I can't believe the amount of detail there is in there

Overall... Overall this is another fantastic picture. You've done really well and I can't wait to see your next pic. [^^]
