Collaboration with The first one we did I think.
Healthy painting experiment with "Paint toll Sai", never going back to photoshop, ever! Sai is so easy and versatile to use, the blending acts like real paint and all I need is 1 to 3 brushes. Just like I found out recently that Blender is so much better than 3ds max. Difficult programs must really be for professionals, there's no need to get complicated with thousands of tools you don't' need. You'll see lots of painting done in Sai from now on.
I don't think this was the best color choice, I didn't put much thought in to it.

I used more than one brush and, yeah Geki influenced me somehow.
I would like to know about anything you dislike about it!

I'm not really improving yet also I did this with the little time I had at my disposal.
You and me still need to do that coloring sesion, maybe you need one type of brush that works for you. Also I have some stories to share to you guys, "horror stories" that is!

Hmm I actually found some brushes I like TODAY! I'm trying other softwares, I realize now Sai isn't ideal for me ha!

Ohh!, I like this style of yours, really pretty and painterly.
The hair extending below making a circle could use more work, the shape isn't really defined there, and pretty hazy on that part alone.
The color palette is nicely picked,
But its still way duller compared to the original reference (Ori and the blind forest).
Probably because the colors are still way too close to each other here.
Anyways, its still a nice palette.
Now, try an indoor scene in this bright color style!
Or a day-scene
..without references ofc!
The yellow glow spilling from the most top right butterfly kinda ruin a lot of things. (It spill above way too much, and is way too strong)
The mushrooms all have the same value, except for that one in the right corner.
There lacks the sense of depth right here. (The trees, and everything else have depth, why not the mushrooms?)
I love how you contrast a lot of stuff here, compared to the original blurring you do in your other paint works.
Good job overall, my only complaints is..
You need to start sketching your own work, rather than using other's work.

I believe a lot of things could have been better but I just need to get used to Sai first. I still use 3 types of brushes and I bet it can be a lot more optimal with one brush but I have to say that Sai is so much easier to paint with, I'll never go back to the blurring thing again, bleh!
The color palette wasn't really thought out, I just picked some colors from a (Ori and the blind forest) reference then I went with that. This is what you call "color right from the tube" (pure colors) wich in painting, really isn't such a good idea, I'll stick to grayscaling next time.
I used a bit of values first to get a bit a depth to the forest.
I was having trouble finding a suitable brush in Corel painter and photoshop is rendered useless since I can't draw curves so that really confused me and made painting paint in the ass fo me but SAI got rid of this issue. Use Said, I praise it now
So I just got a passing grade?! Still not happy then!
