"A peculiar weapon possibly of Dwarven origin the Dial is a sword and magic wand all in one. The hilt has a knob built into it that allows the owner to select different spells depending on the setting: fire, ice, water, earth, wind, light, dark and telekinesis. While it lacks the versatility of a true magic wand, the Dial has the advantage of being a dedicated weapon and it's more 'user-friendly' than a wand which can only effective in the hands of mages. In fact it's theorized that the Dial was a kind of prototype weapon designed to level the playing field for non-magic wielders against magic wielders."
