"It's Jacen... Jaina got him." Leia Organa Solo to Han SoloI've wanted to make this piece ever since finishing the Legacy of the Force novels.
The duel between the Solo twins was one of the most pivotal and heart wrenching scenes since the deaths of Chewie and Anakin during the New Jedi Order series.
I wanted to show a more vulnerable side to Jaina, during the private moments alone when all she has is memories of the twin brother she was forced to kill.

Wow, this is really poignant. I think this is the only image I've seen that uses this idea, it's beautiful.
Do I have your permission to use this image (with credit, obviously) for a personal project I'm working on?
It's a Jaina-centric personal project called Sword of the Jedi: The Musical. The visual aspect of these videos is fairly simple and slideshow-esque. Since there's very little official art of Jaina and Caedus, I'm hoping to use fan art, especially pieces that convey the emotion I'm looking for.

Thanks. I was not well from 2007 until 2010 and didn't do much drawing. Nothing serious, just a lot of stress from relocating, job changes, and my doctor telling me that I keep coming up hot for cancer. The initial tests would show something wrong and then I would get a biopsy and it is normal or benign. Anyway, it is hard to get your muse in gear when you think you are dying all the time. LOL! I was following Hades Sunrider. I guess I need to follow Todd-the-Fox now.

This is great. I am finally getting around to reading the NJO series and I haven't been able to avoid spoilers about what happens in LotF, but I think I'll still enjoy the books. This is a great piece.

I love how you did this. Jaina and Jacen look like they miss each other very much, and Jacen no doubt did; in the Lake of Apparitions he says to Luke, "Tell Jaina I forgive her." But he didn't ask about his parents, which means he didn't forgive them or he couldn't bear to think about them because his death had stripped him of all his anger and hate, if not necessarily all his evil (he did encourage Ben to stay angry).

Yes, they did focus on Jaina because she had to be the one to kill Jacen, and by doing so she proved herself to be the Sword of the Jedi. If Luke had done it, he would have fallen to the Dark Side because it would have been a revenge killing, as Jacen had murdered Luke's wife Mara to become Darth Caedus.
Someone should have written a story exploring her feelings after she had killed the twin brother she loved, during the two-year period between "Invincible" and "Millenium Falcon". All they said in the latter was that she was desolate during that time. Well, what happened? How did she handle her grief? Did she discuss it with anyone? Did she go anywhere? It annoys me no end that they skipped over this to get to the "Millenium Falcon" story. It deserved its own telling.

That would be good, only I don't expect the Star Wars Expanded Universe to do it. I would be looking toward a talented fan-fiction writer to write the tales. Hopefully, there's one either out there or on this site who can do it.

I've always felt like the series sort of betrayed Jacen by turning him into an irredeemable type of Sith. He wasn't even as bad as Vader! But anyway, this picture is fantastic and definitely demonstrates the regretfully severed bond between the two.

I love it!!! but this so sad, I like the sad expression of Jaina, because she looks at her brother, i think that she regrets her action, now she lost her brothers, I like also your interpretation of Jacen, i like his sweet expression, he seems good, not the bad sith!! I hate the end of legacy of the force, and Jacen was my favourite character!!! Wonderful work!!!

Wonderful picture. Jaina's killing Jacen was the most gut-wrenching scene I ever encountered. Image having no choice but to kill your own brother even when you know all to well that he wouldn't hesitate to kill you. It's too bad that no one wrote a story about how Jaina was desolate afterward and how she had to work through it.
