My entry for The Halloween Contest held by [link]Everybody that knows me knows that I love love love autumn.
I think that it is because of the colours and smells.
I love oranges and reds and there's nothing better than a home smelling of cinnamon, vanilla, pumpkin spices and apples.
My favourite holiday's are Halloween and Thankgiving (figure that for a Dutch girl)
So I couldn't resist doing something with the beautifull Pin-Up Witch series by Almudena.

Every year, for Halloween (BEST HOLIDAY EVER!!! I LOVE AUTUMN!) I try and draw some sort of witch character....would you mind if I took some inspiration from this? (I'm not poaching so it would just be her hair or her shoes.)

This is simply luscious! The vintage look and feel is great. I love the colours and textures especially. I'm so very obsessed with all things autumn, especially vintage autumn. This look is just the sort of new direction I've been wanting to take in my own art, the old-Halloween-card look being so much more interesting than trying to create a realistic scene.

The very essence of art comes from within the artist themselves.
Each piece may have all the same ingredients but be so totally different.
Combine the use of colour, definition and concept and we see such amazing contributions from such talented people.
I am a poet and paint with my words and I find such inspiration from the beautiful submissions such as this one, each and every day on DA.
