Description It's been my big project this semester while I didn't have my computer to learn how to SKETCH. Natural-born sketchers will have no idea what I'm going on about, but doodling is actually quite difficult. But as I found myself with no computer and frustration with my classes, this became the perfect outlet. I can safely say learning to sketch was my biggest achievement this year!

This is part two of four, I'm uploading the observational sketches tonight and the rest tomorrow because I'm too tired to finish formatting.
These are drawings of my best friend, who is a wonderful model (except for the sitting still part.) He is spending the summer trekking across europe and we both wanted to learn to watercolor as well, the first 1/2 of my watercolor notebook is exclusively (boring) studies of his face. The lower left of this collage is the most successful one of those. I will never get tired of drawing Kai because of the weird way his personality and his history (which don't match) merge when he draws. I hope I captured some of this in his portraits...

These are beautiful! It's amazing, sometimes, how much more life and energy a sketch can have than a polished piece of lineart. These are full of life! ^_^

ahaha LOL

I just thought that. Not that I am holy with that or something... My English is far from perfect too. But sometimes I see something that my fellow countrymen also do. As in spelling mistakes, I mean.

Ahoy!

That's totally Kai! I really like the variation in these, and you guys have recently converted me to the tombo brush/pen/thing. I still have to practice a lot more with it. Can't wait to see more!

Those are wonderful, I really admire anyone who can sketch so loosely and freely but still come up with something great. I need to learn how to sketch myself, I'm too concentrated on detail... Anyway, great work here. What kind of pens did you use for these?
