What's funny about Nyarlathotep is that he's probably the only mythos figure with a personality, and nobody ever gives him any. Seeing how he can have as many as he damn well pleases.Related content

In that story Lovecraft never defined what he was. But he's also the god to the Mi-go in Whisperer in the Dark. So he's a lot of things.

Well that's true...but Nyarlathotep is one of the only things I feel wasn't taken in the wrong direction after lovecraft's death.

I like to see him as a tall dark skinned man who acts cocky, because he has the power to back it up.

Oh and it didn't take as long as you'd think I was just beating Persona 3/Starting up Persona 4. I think I'm about to calm down from playing P4 cause I'm already thirteen hours into it. Started it three days ago. Right after I beat Persona 3.....oh my I've gone on a tangent.

I think Nyarlathotep is much like the demon legion "we are many" and has multiple personalities. That being said I prefer him to be more a more upbeat and jovial presence who if he encounters an investigator will have a 50/50 chance of flat out telling them what they need to know if he doesn't just tell them he's probably going to help them. Not because he has an agenda but because its a game to him. If he does have plans to do something like bring azathoth to earth and its thwarted I doubt he'd take it personally, they one fair and square, their reward is that he won't try to kill them. Their punishment is he'll be more involved in their lives now. Not hurting them or trying to break their sanity....not trying, doesn't mean it won't happen. Of course when you have a being that is one will made up of multiple fronts even if one isn't trying to do something I'm pretty sure the consciousness it comes from is trying to do something, if you can call it a consciousness. They're all Nyarlathotep yet individual but unified however at odds they maybe with one another which I'm sure would happen.
