Let's see what we've got so far:
Pop Radio Personality from Germany of Chinese descent.
Power in a demon arm; gauntlet allows her to channel/control it?
So the question is, how did she get that arm? Ideas (feel free to add or discard):
1) arm transfusion: she was in an airplane accident, she survived but lost her arm, crashed possibly in a more remote area of transylvania where she woke up with her new arm. Chinese parents found out about her arm and disowned her before she could return home to China, afraid that she'd bring dishonor in the family name (I watched Mulan too many times maybe). When she returns to Europe to find a way to get rid of it, she instead only finds a way to restrain the flow of power (the gauntlet).
2) Her wild college days during a study abroad program went all wrong when a handful of "friends" turned out to be cult members and drugged her at a party to perform rituals on her body that set an ancient curse on her arm. Figuring she'd follow their lead, they also give her the gauntlet to control her new power, but of course, she kills them all.
3) As a famous celebrity radio personality, Romey got into collecting rare artifacts, one of which was a cursed gauntlet which she inadvertently donned on her arm. But even after the appearance of her arm changed, her fans (and subsequently the rest of the world) merely presumed that it's some sort of new fashion statement.

As for where she's based, I could picture, Berlin, Hamburg and Munich. Berlin would make her the nihilistic urban type, Hamburg the cool, dry humor type, and Munich the easygoing. Or she's all three rolled into one and you can pick any of the three. Or another city altogether...

As for her whole backstory (prepare yourself):
As a young college kid she was the ignorant party girl. She went to a party with friends she didn't know very well who ended up drugging her and performing a ritual on her. This put a curse on her that gave her the extraordinary ability to control a red matter (her powers are like Alex Mercer from Prototype but less gorey). Gaining consciousness, she killed the cult college kids out of self defense. She ended up growing up to become an international radio personality and icon. Despite her public life being grand and luxurious she was constantly being hunted by The Guardian (created to destroy anyone who has the curse) and its spawns. Having powers, she also decided to use them every once in a while when someone asked for her help.
Uhh. And her personality I guess would have to be overall cool and dry on the outside and extremely emotionally distraught on the inside. :>

Her backstory sounds very cool. Can't wait to see it in comic form. I may get back to you on some details once I iron out the script.
