I'm with Aaron, you have stumped me on this photo. Absolutely love the result though, excellent foreground detail, and light into the distance. Great star trail captured, all round superb!

Ok...so I'm thoroughly confused. Well done!
So you used gnd, cpl and had an 1.5hr exp?? How the flipmode did the stars still come out...unless the gnd was upsidedown? Assume the brighter wave section is moonlight or is the fg blended in? Been a while since I've been stumped on a photo.
Killer shot

There was enough light because it is about hour to sunrise so with in that hour I had enough light for the foreground. GND was to darken the sky otherwise the stars would not be visible, or in best case scenario they would be too bright. Also the ISO was set to 400 which helped. I hope this will help you.

Good to know Tomas and appreciate the time. How long was the exposure? (looks about 10min). Would have thought the gnd wouldnt allow the stars to come through so much but guess the brightest ones still will. Given me some ideas to work with. Tough around sunrise/sunset w/ the changing light for sure.
