ok,the one in this pic is a 1/144 Welsh Models vacform that i built in 1991{may be no longer available?} and there are 2 other injection moulded kits, one was Lindberg 1/96{early,possibly a prototype} and AIRFIX makes a very nice and large Vulcan Bmk2 in 1/72.

Airfix would be the better choice for a Vulcan, for sure. Welsh,s is after all,a vacform, and those are for experienced modellers only! as for the MiG-29,don,t worry, there are a bazillion kits of it out there in every scale!

Airfix reissued their Vulcan,so it should be easily available.

good kit,but there is a "snag" in there.....you,ll have to do a bit of extra work on the jet exhausts, perhaps a bit of tubing inserted in there. otherwise, they,re just plain empty.

some kits do have a "quirk" here and there, unless Airfix has corrected it with a bit of retooling since the original was issued in 1984....

looks good either way.....for some reason,my personal fave V-Bomber was always the Vickers Valiant.....

rather conventional,compared to the HP Victor.....{alien spaceship?}

HP Victor. i,d like to see Airfix come out with a new and better one, that old M-Box kit is a BEAST!

Are these to scale relative to each other?

affirmative! both are in 1/144,AKA "Airliner-Scale". even our mighty B-52 is just dwarfed by a 747.

that is the weirdest delta wing aircraft ive ever seen!

Have you seen the Dyke Delta? It is a homebuilt aircraft built from plans. [link]

lol, i take that back, THAT is the weirdest delta wing aircraft ive ever seen! i wonder how much one of those would cost over a regular homebuilt kit.

It's hard to say. How are you at scrounging materials?

TomCatDriver In reply to sharkplane77 [2009-01-03 23:42:26 +0000 UTC]
is it? the Victor was even more exotic, with a unique crescent-shaped wing.

sharkplane77 In reply to TomCatDriver [2009-01-04 22:10:01 +0000 UTC]
yeah, but it still looks like a "regular" set of wings, that plane on the other hand has a really wide set of deltas

TomCatDriver In reply to sharkplane77 [2009-01-05 09:48:12 +0000 UTC]
not quite that regular, and i think the HP Victor was the only production/service type to ever use them.

iยดm surprised... the vulcan looks SO huge

it was really an illusion created by the tall undercarriage. i went inside one once, and it really is a bit cramped inside.

bear in mind it was a 1952 design, and the jet engines were somewhat low-thrust.
