My part of art trade with SleepySketcherI'm sorry for taking so long, my muse kinda ran dry orz and then exams came and took over
I cheated, I didn't draw the gold things in the front, it's only partial maso hahaha
I feel like I missed some details... //squints
It's so messy, I also mistakenly uploaded it first with the bow layer hidden orz so many layers
BUT BUT BUT this was super fun to paint amg, his hair and eyelashes were the most fun huhu

I promise you talent is a thing //weezes// I've been doing art for longer than most peeps on DA have been alive pretty masochistically as well. (been on DA alone for 14 years) And I'm still not as good as many many people. (even with 80+ hours a week working at it) So I like to contest that good art is a combo of talent and hard work. //weezes//

Mmm, I've been on dA since 2010 ^^ But I do understand what you mean, I've been working on my art for so long, but I feel like other people are always getting better, much faster than I am. There have been people I used to speak with, but don't anymore because they moved onto crowds with better artist friends.
I also think that good art is a combo of talent and practice, but in my case, I think it's due to practice. I don't really have talent, and I don't have an eye for color and composition, so I've been trying to push myself to do more

reaches// You have more skill than you know. Between you and me I feel like we live in a world that seems to believe that "more realistic" = "Better at art". I dont necessarily agree, esp if that "realistic" art is the product of copying something you see without translating it in any way to your own style. (copying photos exactly) I think style and expressiveness are a different sort of talent that taps into something completely different.
I also think its sad when people move onto "better artists" It shouldn't be about that it should be about friendship and personality (clings to you) I've had friends come and go but that more had to do with life than skill. You deserve better friends. OTL. Please continue to work hard. I watch you because I think your art is lovely.

Hmm, I think that's kinda true as well, since realism is seen as more masterful (like the artists of the past). I'm really just trying to find my own style, and get to a point where I can honestly tell myself that I like my art.
Haha, that's true... I disappeared from dA for some years, and when I returned people had forgotten me. Such is the life of an artist, you're defined by how active you are, not always through how well you do. For me, the journey on dA has been pretty lonely, but I still want to try my best. If I can bring a smile to someone, or inspire them to draw as well, I'll be happy.
Thank you for your lovely comments, I'm touched that someone is interested in my thoughts as an artist, and not simply my works. I've always wanted to engage my audience more, but I can't seem to find a good way to do it. Not that my audience is big or anything, i just wanna here from fellow artists, haha~

LOL no no I feel you bruh AHAHAHA I used to get comment crazy but eventually comments were reduced to "cute" if anything at all. I really like having conversations and learning about the people behind the artwork.
I hope that over time you feel less lonely. There are a lot of really great people here and if you get lucky you can find even one 
As for a smile, I believe that too. LOL a long time ago I had this cute Korean stationary that at the bottom said "make someone happy, make just one someone happy" And its been my mantra for art ever since. If you can touch even one person with something you've created then you've made something beautiful. I personally think your work is gorgeous.

Cute comments are still very appreciated! I still do love receiving them, and I'll always try to reply to every one of them (not all lot of people comment anyway haha T v T ) but yeah! I love learning about people's stories about their art and about them in general.
I'm trying to take steps to do that ( o v o )b But I have met some people who I would trust with my life, and many people are genuinely nice as well haha~ It's just that life gets in the way sometimes
I love making people smile, and I love sharing ideas and telling stories. I hope I can accomplish these things effectively as I grow with my art. Thank you for the thoughtful replies all the time, replying to them is always a pleasure > v <
