Blender internal?!? Amazing!
A question: Do you use more geometry for bumps and details than you would with cycles?

Hi, I can hardly compare since I have never use Cycles that much because of my slow computer.
But what I can say is that I have started to get better result with internal once I've stop trying to make "economies" on models and such. For exemple here everything is modelled, each hole, each piece, ... there are no bump maps or shortcuts or baked textures. "Let's compute everything and it'll be fine." As I use to say now.

Thanks for clarifying. Ive wondered if I could get the detail from geometry rather than texturizing.
My next piece will be internally rendered, as your work rocks!
My current project is cycles rendered, with 15m faces and would take over a week to render one single frame non-stop. I would probably have it rendered in under an hour if I had switched earlier. *facepalm!*.
Thanks for the reply, I will letting it compute everything soon enough...

Amazing, I'm just starting out with Blender so I can't even guess as to how you did half of this but that doesn't stop it from looking great. I'm really into sci-fi and space so this kind of stuff is what I hope to make with blender (starships, advanced weapons, space colonies) so seeing this really make me want to understand blender more so one day I can make stuff this great. How long have you been working with blender and how long did this take?

I'm into blender for about 2 years and a half (but I made my first animation after a few month). This took me 2 days to make.
Keep learning blender, at first it's hard and all but then when you start to understand how it works, you start to have fun and you can't stop blending

Thanks for the encouragement. Yeah I can already see that the more I learn how to do the more I have a desire to just open up blender with no plans in mind and just start messing with random shapes and modifiers to see what I get.

BTW one of the first projects I hope to do is a basic UFO (Nothing fancy just a UV sphere mixed with some scaling). I was wondering if you might be able to link any decent space backgrounds you know of?
