I've always been curious with how you come to make these pieces; apophysis doesn't seem to lend itself to direct manipulation (at least, not for me); do you put in a predetermined formula, animate the piece and do stop/capture shots until it comes out the way you direct it or is there something else?

really curious

what, really, is apophysis? i'm interested to know, since i don't have a clue

Apophysis is a fairly new fractal flame program developed mainly by Mark Townsend and available for free download - search Apophysis. Let me know if you can't find it.

thanks. i'm not really an abstract thinker though so i don't think it'd do me much good. not that i have much time for art anyways...but i like what you got going. i can experience the thoughts that the shapes evoke, but i can't really do the shapes, if yknow what i mean

very nice piece. I think it would have looked fine w/out the lens flare.

Thanks Sirio. I actually put up the wrong version. Other version had a very slight red flare at top.. I appreciate the feedback.
