Oil 40-55cm.I once saw a Romain gravepainting which inspired me in a way. I kept the same proportions as the original[more or less]and tried a more modern kind of realism. Then I added my own story to it.Related content

Well, one of the most important aspects of these kind of techniques is patience...Don't rush anything.
try to do some research on the techniques of the old masters. Especially the ones who worked amazingly detailled. Try to learn something about the techniques of glazing etc.
You don't learn those techniques by some simple tips and tricks..
And very important: try to get your own level of craftmanship. You are already on the road so to speak.

This reminds me very much of an unfinished painting by Dali of his wife. Dali was in the act of painting his wife, almost in profile with hair such as that in your painting.....Your talent amazes me! The colors and the story behind where you found inspiration for this painting are both remarkable.

im not sure i really like the subject matter, as in the actual contents of the painting but your talent just ... well there aren't words. your strokes are smooth and consistent, and the colours are beautiful. and congrats on the DD. you deserve it.
