Chapter 2: The Gathering of Relics

After he left Red so he could rest, Axel went to a somehow poor-looking operating room.

"That's all the equipment we have so far... But this will do for now..."

He lets out a sigh as he taps his ear with his finger, activating his communicator.

"Blade, Axel there. Report in, do you hear me?"

And far from this hideout, stood another blonde man... Armed with a long katana and an energy shotgun. Blade Masamune, Red's twin brother. He was standing over a pile of destroyed Mavericks and other Mechaniloids.

"Blade here. I hear you loud and clear, Axel. What is it?"

"I retrieved Red in the ruins... Iris however..."

"So they did took her..."

Blade grits his teeth, angered by this particular fact.

"How is Red?"

"He's still recovering from his wounds. On my side, I'm still trying to contact what remains of the antic Guardians... We'll need their help and equipment if we want to stand a chance against Slayer and his crew."

"I agree. Keep working on that... You know what I'm searching for what?"

"Yeah. You should find the capsule near your position. But be careful, I sense a lot of unknown signatures, probably enemies. Stay on your guard and come back if necessary."

"Roger that, Blade over."

With that, Blade ends the transmission and continues his way... After walking through a deserted wasteland for quite a while, he would arrive at an abandoned scientific complex... With Gallions and Variants patrolling the whole area constantly.

He frowns as he observes the Mavericks walking around.

He would nod to himself before starting an infiltration process... Which he succeeded. He found himself inside the complex, going underground... After he finished going down, he was in a rather large room, pipes connected to a human-sized capsule... And an android inside it... On it, a large "B-MKX" would be written, the capsule being black colored, in contrast of the shining white glass covering it.

"" He taps his ear to activate his communicator. "Axel, I found the package as planned. Plan an extraction point, I already planned a landing zone outside."

"Roger that. I'm sending our mobile transporter."

"Roger. Blade out."

The communication ends, as Blade walks to the capsule and looks inside it, also touching the top of it... But this would trigger an alarm.

"Damn it-! Screw me!" Blade grits his teeth, angry at himself for what he just did. Pantheons and Variants start to appear near his position, their Busters pointed at him. "So you think you can actually take me down eh...? Fine... Bring it!!"

Blade draws his long katana and goes in his battle stance. A group of 5 Variants shoot towards him at the same time. Blade uses his katana and agility to dodge the shots, before counter attacking with an energy shockwave from his blade. Two of the Variants are destroyed by it. The problem was that more and more enemies were coming.

"Tch... Not planning to let me leave easily...?"

He clicks his tongue and goes back in stance. Suddenly a loud sound would be heard, the capsule speaking in a robotic voice.

"EMERGENCY PROCEDURE ENGAGED. B-MKX: ALL SYSTEMS ONLINE."
"Already-?!"

The capsule would explode, revealing a black and yellow colored android, with a rather bulky armor for a Reploid... Or maybe it wasn't actually MADE to be a Reploid in the first place? The android would open its eyes, bright red colored, as a blue cross-shaped crystal lights up on its head.

"..." He scans the area with his eyes, quickly seeing the army of Mavericks, and the blonde warrior. "... Who are you? Answer, quick."
"A-ahh... my name is Blade Masamune."
"The name Wily reminds you of something?"
"Your creator, right? So you are the one I'm looking for! You are Bass, right?!"
"So you know my name. Which year are we?"
"25XX."
"Way into the future then... Wily's dead then... I'm free."

A smirk appears on his face, as his bright red eyes focus on the Mavericks.

"Since you went through all this trouble to awaken me... I guess I will take care of that with you."
"So... Friend or Foe...?"
"Friend. For now. Now let's rip them apart!"

One of Bass's arms would be replaced with a black X-Buster like cannon, which he points towards the Mavericks before exploding one's head with a well placed shot. He doesn't hesitate to rush towards them, as Blade follows him. The blonde boy would be targeted by Gallions shots. He parries the said shots with his blade before shooting at them with his Buster shotgun, as Bass slams one Maverick down with his bare hand before blasting through 3 other ones with a charged shot.

"Blade, Axel here! Mobile transporter, coming through! Be ready for extraction!"
"Roger!!!"

As soon as his sentence was finished, a copter-like Mechaniloid would break through the wall, coming towards Blade.

"Bass, sir! This is our exit!"
"And I was just starting to have fun...! Tch!"

Bass grits his teeth but complies to Blade, who would jump and hold onto the bottom part of the Mechaniloid. Bass would imitate him, and the copter would leave at great speed. While they were flying, Bass glared at Blade.

"Can I know why you did awaken me?!"
"We need every help we can find! The government is about to be thrown away and taken by a man possessed by Model W!"
"What the heck are you talking about?!"
"I will explain everything once we'll be back at our base camp!"
"Tch...! You'd better have awaken me for a good reason...! Or else..."

Bass clicks his tongue and looks in the distance... The copter was continuing his way.

"Axel, Blade here! Mission accomplished, returning to base!"
"Roger that! Nice job buddy!"
