Anyway, I've been wanting to draw a piece with some dynamic, epic lighting. I am not sure why but lately I've just wanted to do bigger, stronger pieces. Well, stronger as in more MANLY! I've been trying to push my work into a few different directions and her is a more fantasy based piece.
Wanting to do something epic, I figured I couldn't go wrong with a Viking holding his sword up the skies appeasing the Gods of war!
As usual, I was listening to some Heavy Metal for inspiration and decided to use mainly red and blue in this piece. The pose reminds me a lot of one of my previous pieces:
I think there is a big enough difference in colors to set the two apart.

OMG WHY did I think this was an epic image of an all mighty Santa Claus? Vikings would make more sense seeing the helmet.

Actually, halfway through drawing this, there was a brief moment where I thought "hmmm- maybe I should make this Santa."
I thought that was a horrible idea and scrapped it right away. Perhaps I could change out the horns with some antlers and then we will have an epic Santa!
...but I doubt that will happen.

I have been meaning to go back and finish that game. Sadly, I got as far as the part where (SPOILERS...?) the game turns into an RTS (real time strategy). I just had no idea how to play it and soon got distracted with other games.
Aside from that, its an amazing game with a NEAR perfect soundtrack! It helped introduce me to some of me latest favorite NWOBHM bands!
Anyway, you have awesome tastes. Stay brutal!
