This is a recent shot from a workshop. When I suggested this shot I realised it was a fine line as to how it could turn out. I am very much about presenting shots of women that are not tacky in any way and a nude in a kitchen could be received in a way I would not like. To this end I was very careful to make sure that the model looked as natural as possible when the shutter clicked. Even though she is nude I believe that her expression and presence gives the shot a credibility that would likely not be felt if she was conscious of the camera.Also I feel that shots with a scenario can create depth to the shot that a studio nude sometimes cannot match.www.leapoffaith.com.au

Love the photo and I think you did a wonderful job capturing this shot in exactly the way you intended and not in the manner that you feared some may perceive. The only thing that went through my mind (and this should have the Freudian types foaming at the mouth and ready to pounce all over me) was the possibility that some may see your model as being, well... underage. She has a youthful appearance and her height in comparison to the kitchen counter/stove makes her appear as though she may be just a youngster. I'm sure I'm more conscious of the height difference since I'm a 6'1 cabinet finisher and as far as the appearance of youth goes... now that I've hit 40, everyone under the age of 25 looks like they belong in high school or middle school to me so I'm a poor judge of age appearance. Anywho... you did great with this photo and I love your work.

The cabinets are actually higher than standard so this might explain the height re the model.To the best of my knowledge she is 24. Thanks very much for your feedback on the shot.

i agree...but i also think you're overanalyzing, a great pic is a great pic (Shrug)...i wouldn't worry too much about what the photo nazis may say in their angry and bitter sexless life critiques

I understand what you mean about a shot being tachy ...and too obvious but, after all, eroticism is life itself. A beautiful woman being natural in her kitchen while nude makes you think nice, soft, tender things, as opposed to seeing her as an object. It's erotic because she could be dressed, and would probably be just as attractive.

I agree about how a shot like this can make you feel soft and tender things. However many shots of women especially naked ones project the opposite feeling to this. Think much comes down to how the shot is approached on the day.

Good question. This was a passion for the female nude workshop. As such all scenes were to be naked. This was one of a few scenarios we tried. Have also done this scene in full fashion and lingerie.

Yeah I've never shot with a nude model before. I guess it has to do with changing the idea of a nude female from something sexual to something beautiful. Still stimulating but on a different more artistic level. Not just a hot body to fuck but something more than that.

'Natural settings' nude shots can be very tricky. You alluded to it though, how a model will tend to 'act', a bit, since she knows there's a camera around. Aside from the obviously empty skillet (least, that's what I THINK lol) it feels VERY natural. Her hair, composition, facial expression, all seems very 'normal', even the lighting and setting adds to this! There is a fine line, and I think that's because "naturally" women aren't cooking in the kitchen naked, which is understandable. So with nearly every "nude kitchen" shoot you see, it's dolled up or dressed to impress, and it all feels a bit fake and pushed. This just feels so.....natural. I wish there were another word, but really Tony, this feels so much more pure and natural than a lot of what you've done, and THAT is truly saying something!
