Ohno,

Thank you for one of the kindest compliments ever received at DA, means a lot. While not so much anymore my signature says “every picture tells a story” and there is a bit of a story, be it sad, behind this one. This farm was about a mile from home and now ½ mile since moving. I didn’t know the owner at the time but learned the three horses there were rescues. I used to visit them frequently, occasionally with apples or carrots and for the longest time just thought she was shy. Turns out she is blind and it took the longest time to get her to come in. It gets even sadder…. Came to know the owner and he got his head caught in his hay bailer last fall. Since his passing the other two horses are gone and she spends her days alone. Guess I should pay a visit. A rather long story and don’t know the facts but the only thing he left his Daughter was permission to stay and the house and the estate maintains a hired hand. The Daughter? 6 foot 3, about 350 and nuttier than a fruit cake. The woman scares me, lol. So there you have it….

just wanted to tell you that i framed this (the one without the pole) and have it in my bed room where i look at it every day. It reminds me of the Stone's "wild horses, we will ride the someday". I may not ride them someday, and this may not be a wild horse....but still, the sentiment is there.

That is a really sad story. I can even imagine how the man got his head caught in a hay baler. I hope the horse has been provided for, what a shame she has to live the rest of her life out alone.

The daughter does sound intimidating, I presume his estate went into the maintenance of the farm, but sooner or later it's got a run out a unless it self-sufficient.

this is gorgeous.

i wish those posts and fence wires weren't there.

otherwise the pose is beyond belief - and the light in the tail - it almost looks like a unicorn from a distance - amazing.

you also have a light ray happening across the picture, but it doesn't really hurt it.

Thank you. I have several more and may submit another. Was trying to avoid the fence posts and one sticking out of her back. Let me know if you like the other.
