Description Ugh, another Star Sapphire. I still think they are too much of a catch-all for any random female superhero, and I selected Spider Woman for this set. Why? Because I was tired of making blondes and wanted somebody who wasn't a part of the X-Men.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of the Star Sapphire criteria, I hope you enjoy!

Actually, Jessica does make some sense as a Star Sapphire because one of her powers is projection of pheromones which make people go stupid for her. Not exactly love, but it is seduction.

Thanks for the reinforcement on that decision! (I guess I had forgotten about the pheromones...)

I've found Jessica to be quite an interesting character, though I do feel she's been a little under-used post Secret Invasion. Then again she is a British hero and I'm always fond of Brits in comic books

Nice job combining the Star Sapphire costume with her regular one.

Thanks! I won't lie, I do love me some Brit heroes, especially Psylocke (I do hate how they've made her somewhat Asian through some misunderstandings...)

I completely agree with Jessica, she can and should have more air time. I enjoy the concept and wished that Spider-Woman mini series didn't cancel so soon...

One thing I dislike (so far anyway) about DC is their lack of British heroes, bar Knight and Squire whom I'm not interested in. Off the top of my head, Mon-El is the only "British" DC hero I can think of, and when it comes to him, I use the term "British" VERY loosely. He's still a great character though.

I know! It's brutal with Marvel. I mean DC's a bit too white bread American in my mind. Hal? American pilot. Supes? Landed in a small American town. Very few mainstream heroes are 'non American' and rarely stick around. It's a pity...

Definitely rock on with Mon-El though.

Exactly. Marvel seems to have a nice balance. I mean heck, technically Thor is Swedish (I once read a comic which refered to him being Swedish anyway). I know Kyle is meant to have some Hispanic roots but a) that's almost never mentioned and b) where is he on the GL food chain again...?

I can understand to a degree wanting to make everyone from America; it is a big country and seems to be the main one in the western world/the world in general. But still...

Never knew that about Kyle, but can you blame me? You hit it right on the head!

Then again, as much as I loved the Captain Britain/MI13 series, it was a bit stereotypical tounge in cheek. I know it's part of the fun but I'm British and I drink coffee instead of tea

What?! Coffee?! Surely you don't mean that!! (Totally joking on that, gotta love stupid stereotypes). I have a few Capt Britain comics, but like you said it is a bit too 'much.' I did enjoy Excalibur way back when.

I'd like to point out that I'm not a fan of Cap. America. He's too patriotic and stereotyped in my mind and I just get annoyed sometimes, especially when playing games with him in it and he says 'America this' and 'America that.' Almost like he's asking everyone around him, "Hey! Didja know I'm American?"

Random side note, I do in fact love tea.

I saw MI13 as more tongue in cheek than anything. And I find Cap to be quitr interesting, as he repesents morals I personally admire and like to look up to. He may lay the "I'm American!" thing a bit thick, but it's something I've grown used to over the years

Tea is alright, buy my father was an avoid coffee drinker. Apparently his mum ODed him on Tea when he was growing up, to the point where he was sick of it.

Overall, Cap's not the worst, but he's just not anything I like too much. I did enjoy the Civil War story arc and how he does the "un-American" choice. I think making him choose to do this adds much needed changes.

The whole tea thing comes from me growing up in Southern U.S. (Missouri) and sweet tea's like the drink of choice down there, so it's more of a thing I grew up on. I do enjoy coffee as well, but find tea hard to beat.

I think part of Civil War went over my head. I don't see how following the government would be the American thing to do; surely it would be supporting people's freedom.

And fair enough

I guess what I'm trying to say with Civil War is chose to do go vigilante with picking the choice not to follow the American government's idea to make the superhero act. I won't lie, I haven't read a whole lot of Captain America, but for the reason you stated, that in turn shows how divided being patriotic can be.

Fair enough. Personally I only became a fan of Cap after Bucky took over. I'm not sure if I'll cotninue to read if/when Steve takes back the shield.

Oh! If you're talking about Cap post Steve, yeah, I'm a fan of Bucky Cap all the way. I always thought of Steve as sort of that 'Marvel's Superman' in terms of exposure. I have enjoyed Bucky's run thus far.

I was joking to a friend a while back, saying how I love the new Cap (Bucky) and he asked why and I replied with "Cause he has a gun!" Even though I'm not a big fan of the Punisher-types who shoot with guns, I think it makes for a nice change to just the shield.

grrrrr.... I hate this woman.... Arana or Spider-Girl (M2) would have been a better choice than her...

I have thought about Spider-Girl, but at the time, I wanted a female hero from the Avengers and she's one of the more popular heroes. I'll definately keep Arana in mind though...
