Description
This is clearly wishful thinking since Warner Brothers clearly doesn't remember the existence of Cats Don't Dance, especially because they may have chosen to forget it because it didn't do well in the box-office in 1997, which is a bummer because it's a cult classic for all of us 90's kids. Anyway, it would be awesome if WB acknowledged that their creation does have fans to this very day and surprised them with giving Danny and Sawyer a cameo somewhere among the many WB characters making cameos in the new Space Jam.
Of course, odds are that if WB did remember them, they probably would only pay attention to the fact that it wasn't a success and have a jab at them, writing them off as 'something that shouldn't even been made'. They did that with Scrappy-Doo countless times and jabbed at Loonatics Unleashed in the new Animaniacs and Teen Titans Go!, though technically LU was divided among viewers (I'm not a fan of it myself, but still). So if they decided to reference Cats Don't Dance in this modern era, I wager the writers will jab at it too instead of accepting it as one of them, and that would be truly insulting. I mean, CDD is nowhere near as unlikable-seeming as LU or Scrappy, except for Darla Dimple.
I hope that there's not an anti-Cats Don't Dance joke in the new Space Jam. Better to just not mention it than mention it with severe hate that punches a 90's kid right in the teeth.
P.S. With fan art I see of other WB toons dressed in the new Tune Squad jerseys, I would love to see one of at least Danny and Sawyer donning the jerseys as well (and maybe some sneakers).
Cats Don't Dance, Space Jam and Looney Tunes belong to Warner Bros.
