Description Notes/ Lines for inspiration to draw this sketch:

The major environmental fallout of a robust consumption driven economic growth is the generation of a
growing amounts of municipal wastes. Many cities and towns
are overwhelmed by the increase in the volume of waste that
they must manage with every passing year. The variety and complexity
of materials now demands higher capacity levels to
collect, manage and dispose of waste safely. Only such a transition
can stop harm being done to the environment and in turn, human health.
Evidently, few local bodies are equipped to perform
the task. Although, they are mandated by the Municipal Solid Waste
Management Rules,2000, to adopt specific protocols, hardly any have made any strenuous effort
in this direction(dealing the waste such as municipal solid waste, bio medical waste and the less visible, but very toxic E-waste).
The problem is compounded by the absence of segregated collection systemsand separated streams for different types of wastes. What cities and towns produce are an amalgam of municipal, hazardous and toxic wastes. When such refuge is open-burnt
toxins are released. Burying produces Leachate that percolates into groundwater, again, with serious
implications for public health. Fortunately, the dangers are now recognized and solutions to reduce, recycle, compost and ultimately dispose of a small quantum of waste in a scientific manner are available. Policy corrections are necessary to avoid converting the country into a dumping ground for E-waste. Waste management must become the centre piece of enlightened policy for
cities and towns to breathe easy.

I posted this work in a hurry, so there are some patch works
left unattended. Will do that soon and repost them.

Thank you very much my friend...
my point in doing such artworks is to provoke ouselves to be careful
with our actions... meaning, we have created all this by ourselves
and think of chances of undoing them or contributing towards reverting
the impending disasters in the future becuz of these... atleast in
a smallest way possible...
That's also my point of doing such artworks..
Good to knw tat you now have dA account...
welcome to DA..

Rama--I'm sorry I haven't gotten to comment on this newest work of yours. I ask for a thousand pardons for the lateness

This is absolutely stunning work, my good friend! There is so much detail! From top to bottom and everywhere in between there are little things to see. I especially like the skull made of skulls Too cool!

I do like how your work reflects sociatal problems we have in the world. I've known for a long time that you're an enviromentalist, but you're also a 'humanist' because your work reflects us as a species. It's one of the reasons I really like your work. I'm sure you could spend all your time drawing aliens and such--your mind is ripe and fertile for that , but these works are from your heart and mean a lot to you. Keep doing them

I know the work isn't done yet--at least it doesn't 'feel' done to me. I'm looking forward to seeing the later versions as you add more detail in the upper portions

It's a for sure, man!

P.S.--guess who is returning to driving trucks this month?

Rama, this is a very interesting concept and you did really well. I am very impressed. The image reaches with strenght
You must have been working on this for a real long time ...
It was very interesting to read your information. The waste issue is a real problem. Everything is discarded so easily, so many different types of wreckage... from plastic to electronics. I know exactly what you mean and it is really something to be aware of and worry about...

A fantastic work,congratulations my friend !!

toonrama In reply to Manwathiell [2009-05-08 10:15:12 +0000 UTC]

Manwathiell! Thank you very very much. I will be working on more of such issues, and appreciate every supportive word. Sometimes it is that no one wants to see or go about stuff that has lot of negative stuff around them. This work is one of those, wherein I had to talk about problems around us,(ranting in a way) and at the same time trying to draw attention of people into these.
Gotta go a long way...
