Morr of youre beutiful aret work
its just wonderful
the shades and then the red pops out in your faceΒ
it simulates,in my oppinon,a jiant dread luming over the horizen
even beter simulated by the "blake eyes" in the uper right, which to me looks like a graning monster ready to strike,
a strong storem is coming it clearly showes
but i also enjoy the light house and to me it seams that it is going to stand,And aidΒ
any ship that may cauct in the storem,
i also enjoy the texture you gave the rokes thay are realy niceΒ
it is a really beutiful pictuer
thanks for making it ^^

I'm a stormchaser at heart. I'm continually amazed at the otherworldly shapes that Mother Nature can create especially with clouds. Here is a lonely lighthouse standing valiantly against the coming of a storm. The clouds have a real foreboding presence and almost nightmarish quality that proceeds the arrival of a storm of great ferocity and power. While mostly grayscale, the touch of red adds an element of danger to the image, forecasting the fury rolling in the distance. By far the most powerful image I've seen!

Really like the contrast of marks, harsh rockland against the smudged like background and the smooth red

I meant that because it's the only part that is colored it looks smoother than the rest, and breaks the consistency a bit, as the rest is sharper.Β

Caught my attention your job, it's a big stage, and at the same time is a little strange,Β In my opinion you could improve is the background, it's a bit confusing,Β but not like my English ^^.Β I think are mountains and a river or the seashore,Β you could blur the background, It would emphasize much the lighthouse, I think that is the main object of this work, only are suggestions ^^.Β
The texture of the stones is very good, the lighthouse looks beautiful,Β Really red contrasts perfectly with white or light colors.
If I'm not mistaken, you didn't put signature, you should put one, it's a very good job and there are many people who could take it without your permissionΒ
Keep it up!

Commenting on behalf of ProjectComment (and for that reason in English; if clarification is needed - I'm German ^^)
A strong picture. I like your texturing through the different stroke 'techniques' you used - the thin, straight lines for the lighthouse; the bold, fractalized lines for the rocks, and the areal contrasts for the clouds. Since I don't use charcoal (it is charcoal, isn't it?), I can't say anything more about the technique with that, the only "technical" comment I have is that the lighthouse sees veeery slightly out of balance, especially the red top.
For the impact the image has, I can say it is very menacing. To me, it isn't calm anymore, there is already a storm raging. If you wanted to have this calm-before-feeling, it would perhaps have been better not to fill the sky directly above the lighthouse with those dark clouds but to do some dark clouds further away at the horizon.
A last thing: I can't discern what that really dark thing in the upper right corner shall be. It looks like a wing torn from a bird.
Overall I think it is a very good image, with impact and feeling. It just doesn't match the title anymore (in my opinion).

I don't know if I should answer in english or german XD. Fuck it, I'll do it in english
It is actually drawn with pencils^^
You're very right about the balance of the lighthouse. About the title, to me it is still calm, because there is still nothing happening. All the clouds are coming together, but they haven't "exploded" in a storm yet, but I totally see your point too. I think it's also a matter of the interpretation of this idiom and your feelings towards it, but I did overhinted the storm, so yeah, you're quite right. Thanks for the constructive comment. I'll definetely keep it mind!

Ich finde die RΓ€umlichkeit dieses Bildes echt beeindruckend! AuΓerdem ist es echt toll wie du die Stofflichkeit der Objetke dargestellt hast. Und der Kontrast durch das Rot macht das Bild echt perfekt.

I really love this piece! I like how you only used red as the one color in contrast to the black and white as it seems like it's signifying the danger ahead for the sailors before the storm arrives. Somewhat unrelated note, but my grandma loved lighthouses, and I could definitely see this picture on her wall if she were still around. Great work!
