I find this picture quite interesting because of the colors and details. It's quite fun to see the two separated colors on the character on the right, while the coloring on the girl to the left is bright and gives her a more 3-D image to the detailed background. The shading and details in the background definitely help the colorful characters stick out and shine.

Well an aspect, not the full picture. In a way any character you make has a piece of you in it, it's like having a sub routine in your head of how that character thinks. If that makes it more understandable?
