The sun was already settling down when they had found the midnight tyto and the girl. Its light shattered through the verdant leaves of this evergreen forest that never grew cold. In fact, Regen felt uncomfortable warm at this place, and his master, fully covered and clothed, probably did not do any better. Master had tried to calm the wild humanoid creature, and slowly, she grew more curious about the strangers that had come to her home. Surely she did not know nor fully understand that they were just after the stryx that she was protecting, in fact, she seemed not aware of anything at all. Regen folded his wings, the net with which he should have caught the other tyto still underneath him. He had it in his claws when the girl came out of the forest and the horned tyto had noticed how awkward his master felt when he saw her. Unlike most humans that Regen had seen, her body was not covered in rags and her hair was wild just like her gaze. And when master tried to communicate with her, she gave no reply at all- the only sound that came from her was a purring, aimed towards the midnight tyto as an act of comforting. Regen was sitting in the back, quietly, but observing, while his master gave his best to get anything out from her. Eventually the man sat down and leaned against a tree, tired of the wasted efforts and the heat. Now, the girl turned towards the horned tyto, still with a curious glance on her face. She probably had seen more stryx before, and seemed very close to that midnight tyto as well, but she haven't seen a bird with ears yet. Slowly she got closer, while Regen was holding still, knowing how his master kept his eyes on both.
Now the girl was only a few inches away from him, a happy smile on her innocent face, before she reached out to him. Regen hesitated for a moment, but then he leaned forward, shoring on his wings. The thin hand layd upon his cheek, and the moment her fingers ditched into his feathers, he felt an unsuspected calmness coming over him. Regen's eyes widened in suprise as the girl continued stroking his face, still smiling. The horned tyto relaxed and for a moment, all he could se was the girl and her calming aura. Not even his master's stare could disrupt this moment.

Small part of Rhegan's and Feyna's story, including Rhegans Stryx Regen. I had this idea in my mind since I created feyna, due to the fact that she never was close to any humans, she's way better in handling animals such as regen. He also really likes her, more than his master in the beginning.

Also drawing that forest killed me, but I'm very happy with the outcome.^^
