Description A blast from the past.

Something I designed about 7 years ago!!! i dont' know if I can even call it a "design" since, i'm using an existing car.

But, it was designed in conjunction to a story/characters I am developing. Some variation of this will make it into my future project... I am sure...

Anyways, It's done in water color...

“I’m out of here General!”
“Not quite yet Sullivan! There’s something I need to show you”
“Listen Patterson. I don’t want to see anything you have to show me. Not after what happened in Mozambique. Just show me...?
What the hell is THAT!?! “
“That is the product of over 7 years and 600 million in aerospace research.
THAT is one of the most sophisticated piece of weaponry on the planet.
THAT is the first Mini specifically designed for high performance aerial combat.
That is… Skyfox!”

You could consider it to be a design, or a modification. you've designed a modification. I bet It'd fly, too.

Wow, if it only worked. The mini is normaly very front heavy so I doubt it would acctually work. Still the rendering is very well done, the shine effect on the side is a very effective touch.

Heh, very cool...
...Jesus, don't let the blokes from Top Gear get hold of this one, they might actually try it.

I like it, especially how it all fits onto the mini so well, kinda cobbled together looking, but at the same time like it's meant to be that way since day one (I don't know if that made a whole lot of sense actually). Plus the proped open boot reminds me of the old Arbarth Fiats

Monster Garage, anyone? XD

It's anachronisms like this that bring a smile to my face. It's a Mini with WWI aircraft bits on it, and what appear to be . . . jet engines?

A minor note is that the engines [if those are indeed jet engines or maybe liquid-fuel rockets, since the intakes of a jet would suck the air out of the Mini?] would likely fry your rear control surfaces ~ jet or rocket exhausts are hot stuff. But what do I know? Besides, none of that would likely really work, so who cares? ^_^

This was designed back in 1999. Years before Jesse did his flying Viper mod. In fact, I did post this picture in the Discovery channel's forum when he was making that flying car.

Also, as I have noted, flying car concept is not such an original concept. Not only that, early fathers of designers like Norman Bel Geddes was already designing flying cars in early years.

Lastly, this is not designed to be a real flying machine. But, it's for a fantasy based story line that features "believable" and familiar objects from our world.

Well some people stick to what they know. Its nice to see a gallery that has so many diff pictures from eachother. Im just here to give props when they are due.

Ha! Thanks for the kind words...

Eventhough... that's also my biggest weakness... The nature of my job had me do a lot of different stuff in different styles... And I think I can cover most of those with relatively good quality work... But, I can't say I am really good in one area. I really am jealous of some people who had patience and opportunity to develop one area they are strong at.

But, then again, my goal isn't to do that... so I hope it balances out...

RobertV85 In reply to torokun [2006-04-15 00:28:18 +0000 UTC]

Balance is good though. Some ppl (me) wander off from what theyre good at and explore diff areas and tend to fail. I try to use photoshop for different things. Whether it be wallpapers, photomanips, and now digital ink/paint. Its all bout enjoying what you do. And it seems like we both achieve that. As long as we keep the love and in most cases patience, for what we do, we'll be fine.

Thats awesome. Do you think she'll fly? Assuming the vehicle is of a female gender.

torokun In reply to tomsaville [2006-04-13 23:32:58 +0000 UTC]

In real life? No way.

This Mini was designed to give an illusion of certain level of believable realism in a semi fantasy world. Things like this car exists in the world I am developing. And if it serves to have people think it's possible, than it served its purpose.
