Prof. Sequoia is stern young woman, and also very intellectual for her age. However, due to her hailing from a different region entirely, her English is slightly broken, but this doesn't mean she's any less smart, of course! She is dedicated to discovering more about ancient Pokemon civilizations. Being all at once an anthropologist, geologist, and historian she thrives in her studies of culture. But there is one mystery civilization that she cannot completely uncover; but she believes them to be her ancestors. She works in her study, instead of a laboratory, and also cares deeply for her Pokemon and her son, Keoni.

Due to Sequoia's knowledge on the mystery civilization, she is targeted By Team Enigma as they believe she has all the rest of what it takes to uncover the missing society and reveal the lapsed legendary Pokemon. She has the necessary knowledge, while they can find the keys. What they don't know, is that she is one of the keys.
