Great artwork. I agree with the legs comment, but you will develop your skill on that over time (great attitude you have to never give up, btw). There is definitely an interesting relationship portrayed in your drawing. I feel like Pearl seems vulnerable in this, like Pink Diamond's little doll... her play thing. But maybe that is coming from my perception of Pink being a bit bratty and selfish. Steven is nothing like that - actually, the complete opposite - so perhaps we can consider that Pink Diamond's character and empathy for others evolved as she learned more about life on earth and, ultimately, through her experience of becoming human?

pFSHH thats a really funny way of thinking about it! I feel like she did use Pearl as more of a doll when she first got her, but slowly realized that Pearl was just as much of a gem as anyone else. I think that Pink was really self centered and snooty, but she used it to save the Earth. She probably didn't think about the repercussions for creating a war and shattering hundreds of gems. I suppose we'll have to see if she meant to makes Steven for him or to put her war crimes on him. *shrugs*

But yeah, Rose doesn't even exist, as there was only Pink Diamond and Rainbow Pearl... Cause technically that's what Pearl was all this time. 'v'
And... now that I had a second look at it, I think I can sorta agree with you on that. The pose is definitely not as fluid as it could've been. I think it may be the fault of one particular thing here in fact. One is her crossed legs, as her right leg, which stretches out towards the viewer of the piece a bit more than her left, doesn't really fit with the position she's in. Maybe if you slightly turned the legs a bit more to face towards where her torso is facing, it wouldn't look as stiff. But that's just what I'm seeing from it all. 'u'

Wait I've never thought about the Rainbow Pearl part is that confirmed?? Because her gem looks pretty.. pearly to me. like a regular pearl. But she does have a pretty different colour scheme!
Ah yes, I can definitely agree with hat! Crossed legs has never been my forte. Oh well, there's always another opportunity! ^^

Well, it's not technically confirmed... HOWEVER, if you were to take into account her clothing at the time when she was talking to Pink Diamond, it was a complete rainbow. AND THEN when you take in the fact that when Pearl transforms her own body into Rose Quartz, she is the EXACT SAME COLOR AS A ROSE QUARTZ!! And what is also shown in the episode as well, is that Pearl, when she was transformed into Pink Diamond, was ALSO OF THE SAME COLOR. MEANING that this Pearl that is with Steven, although looking more white than pink, is more than capable enough to change into a gem of a different color, which would explain why she doesn't like to transform as much as the other gems do... So although it might not be a "Rainbow Pearl" in terms of the name, it's definitely possible that that is the case.
And yeah, at least you'll always be able to have another go at the idea. ^^

The Rose transformation does suggest rainbow though! I mean, she does have pale/white skin and peach/pink hair so its not that far of a stretch.. but still really interesting! The colour of her clothes bit is what I find to be the strongest argument!

Yeah, obviously we'll have to wait on whether or not she ever transforms into any other type of gem of a different color, but suffice to say, there's definitely evidence to support the idea.
Also, yeah, sorry, I didn't realize that she never even did transform into Pink Diamond, so the evidence isn't there, however, it's the only way I can explain the idea of how Pink Diamond was always able to explore Earth without even once getting caught. So because we know Pearl can change into Rose Quartz, there is a possibility that she's also capable of transforming into Pink Diamond...
But again, we'll have to see if that's even the case.

Ohhh thats what you meant by that!! The whole resolution to the Pink Diamond ruling while Rose Quartz is dueling kerfuffle is gonna be really interesting! I'll definitly keep my eyes out for more clues now that I know the theory ^^
