Canto II. Dante ingabbiato da mille dubbi, si chiede se proprio lui è degno di compiere questo viaggio. La cosa fighissima di questo Canto è che c'è un discorso diretto a cornice; una triplice “tizio mi ha detto: “tizio mi ha detto: “tizio mi ha detto””. Dunque, Dante narratore fa dire a Virgilio che Beatrice è scesa nel limbo e gli ha detto che la Madonna ha detto a Santa Lucia di andare a dire a Beatrice che Dante è in pericolo e va aiutato (che al mercato suo padre comprò).

Canto II. Dante is caged by many incertitudes; he asks himsef if he can be worthy of this voyage. The cool thing about this chapter is that there is a frame direct speech; a three time “he told me:”he told me: “he told me””. So, narrator Dante makes Vergil say that Beatrice climbed down in the limbo and said to him that the Virgin Mary told Saint Lucia to go to Beatrice and tell her that Dante is in danger and needs to be saved (parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme).
