Waiting for more photos, especially ones with my Yunie! <3This costume was made in 3-4 days before it was worn at Acen 2010 and wasn't exactly finished when it was worn, so needless to say it's missing quite a few things. It's completely body paint from the waist up, waist-down it's lavender tights. The wig is made completely out of yarn. There's a lot of fixing up I need to do and a lot of things I still need to make. The ice crystals on my face are also on the wrong side *headdesk*
I went with lavender body paint/multi-colored hair to go with more of Shiva's in-game renders and her figurine, not the art...although I took some aspects for details from the artwork. (or at least will once they are completed XD)

Amazing work on your Shiva costume~!!
Curious though, did you have any problems with the wig being too heavy, or sliding back while wearing it? Also what type of hat did you use for the cap? Sorry for all the questions... you just did such a great job, very impressive~

Thank you! The wig was definitely heavy, but not as heavy as you would think. My neck was a bit sore at the end of the day. The wig did not budge at all the whole time I was wearing it...though I made sure to limit my movements to decrease any chances that it would, which probably added to my sore neck! XD The hat was an old leopard print bucket hat I had sitting around since grade school. I just removed the brim and attached the yarn to it. It was heavily clipped/bobby pinned to my head (mostly around my front hairline)

Simply adorable, and I like the idea of the yarn for the wig, it looks really awesome. The lavender looks great, makes the cosplay seem more realistic, as if Shiva were really there. The neon blue I see others with is just too much. This is a great cosplay.

i see the wig is made of yarn? you need to do a tutorial of it. i have wanted to cosplay shiva for a wile but the wig was just something i couldnt figure out.

yes! that it is! haha it was definitely a MONSTER to create >< and sadly it didn't come out QUITE how I wanted T_T but there's really nothing I can do about that now unless I feel like remaking it XD (nootttttt gonnna happppennnn hahaa) but I will definitely think about making a tutorial sometime soon! I hafta remember how I made that damn thing O_o where oh where did I put those prog pics XD

haha it should have but I'm a procrastinator and ended up making the costume in roughly 3 days, maybe 4 XP, and surprisingly only took 5 hrs to get fully into costume! Which was a lot less than I expected!

thanks! The body paint I used was Kryolan Aquacolor. It's the only stuff I trust after I used it for my Midna body paint! This stuff is awwwwwesome!

This lady goes all out on ALL her costumes. She is my costume making idol. She does them as authentically as she can, spends a ton though

I did and she does make beautiful costumes! But I was really disappointed at the inaccuracy of this particular costume and several construction choices....but that said, I still think the costume is quite beautiful and easily one of the best Shivas out there!!

For 3-4 day this is very impressive. I could not think how to even go about making it in that amount of time. I take a year on and off to do a costume. I love the colorfulness, and again, the wig is so much. What did you use for the ice on the bra? Its really cool.

Thank you so much<3 I still have no idea how I pull stuff like this off in only a matter of days >< Midna was made in like...2 weeks O_O *headdesk* I need to stop doing that XP haha The "ice boob" (as I have dubbed it!) was made out of stencil making sheets, which is essentially thin plastic sheeting like you can find for school folders XD. I cut it into the shapes I first cut out of paper (to make sure they fit) and with the help of my friends Lexi and Beth, glued it all together then painted it with pearl white paint!

i like the idea to simply use yearn instead of expensive hairdreads etc. hairdreads often look so... unrealistic and only bad... but your ig is so cool! how long have you worket on the wig?
