Description this is how I quantify
your remove
from me: ladders of

cosmic distance,
angles of
inclination,

our minute
stellar parallax.

you, my standard candle,
pulsar heart,
the scale by which
I measure everything:

you creature of precision,
neutral but
so thoroughly magnetic:

you are bright and beautiful and
unaffected, and

I am left to ponder
the geometry
of longing

Interesting. I have never seen that word used as a noun. Β It sounds weird to me, but you are correct, per the dictionary.

It's so interesting to see poets turning to science for their metaphors. It's great that t you keep the spirit of John Donne alive!
