I should do more random concept art for the imagery I get in my head for my different stories. Just a dumb digital illustration I did kinda quick.This picture is based on a story I've been cooking up in my brain, made from the salvaged bits of a former story that I reworked recently. A quick run-down (as I often do):
A smaller second moon that's been hidden behind the one we know orbits around in front of it (due to a magnetic field flux). Humans go to explore it and find it inhabited by a species of aliens known as the Gruxxor. Humans colonize the Utopian moon while some of the peaceful friendly aliens are brought back to Earth. Complications arise when humans discover at night they mutate into vicious monsters. A race begins to return the Earth-Gruxxor home and get the human population off the second moon before it orbits again back into the shadow of the moon, dooming them all.
I've been having fun sketching a few designs of the Gruxxor (and their half Gruxxor/Human hybrid counterparts) but for now all that will suffice is the tiny figures in this picture. Yes. They have antlers and tails.

Because I would love to buy your works, but the only thing I can buy from is amazon, and that only by begging my brother, because I'm still not 18. Oh, and I live in Germany. That makes it even more complicated.

It's just a teaser poster I put up and for now I'm not doing the whole story, because I want to save it for a little later, but I AM doing a self-published story I will be selling later this year hopefully.

Is it actual night that causes the Gruxxor to change, or is it something they're exposed to on their journey to Earth that makes it possible for them to involuntarily change at night once there? I only ask because, spaceships going to and from a second moon would likely travel in the darkness of the first part of the way there and back. Even if for only for a few hours. I'd assume astronauts would figure out pretty quick if a Gruxxor had the natural pre-disposition of turning into some sort of dangerous monster along the way. And if was something that happened to Gruxxor's that traveled in space only, and it became public knowledge, would the leaders on Gruxx even want such dangerous folks returned to their Utopia?
I'm just asking, cause the plot is interesting, but it had that hole in it. And now I feel like such an ass for saying anything.

Don't feel like an asshole for pointing it out. Its a good point but I didn't go into detail for it because I didn't want to lay out paragraphs upon paragraphs of information in the artists comments.
The earth's atmosphere gets thinner at night, allowing certain types of radiation both from space and produced by the earth to travel farther and faster and become more potent in the air at night. Though these very low levels are harmless to us and other animals, for creatures who possibly lived in a radioactively sterile environment on Grux like the Gruxxor (thanks to a thick tightly packed atmosphere on their tiny planet) when exposed to it the radioactive particles can mess with their fragile genetic structure.

This radiation element could also explain why Gruxxor's are able to have children with Human's.

That's amazing. I'm completely captured by the concept already. The Gruxxor look really cool, I'm excited to see then. I also love the second-moon and how it's in the first moon's shadow. The picture itself is wonderful. I lvoe the simplicity, while at the same time it has a lot of depth. Great expression of the moon's surface, I like that style. The way the Gruxxor are standing around is also intriguing. The lone-character's shadow appears much longer than the rest of them, and there seems to be mother and child, showing human-like qualities (like being bipedal). The way your name is right under earth is also boss. xD the solid black (as opposed to stars) is actually very ominous and emphasizes the moons.

That sounds absolutely terrifying in a very awesome and intriguing way. I'd love to hear more about this in the future, if you ever get the chance to touch on this again.
