These drawings show the concept and controls I did for Playmates Toys while working on their Simpsons Moe's Tavern Playset. The finished product came out pretty close to my drawings. They dropped the Bar Stool due to cost.I ended up designing about 40 of the Simpsons playsets with Playmates Toys (a few never got made). Being a huge fan of the Simpsons, it was one of my all-time favorite toy lines I've ever worked on. I'll post more of the sets as soon as I can. Hope you like!

This set was a lot of fun to work on. There was so much detail and texture, plus the model makers stayed pretty faithful to my control drawings. Sometimes they need to change things from my drawings, but this set came out around 95% to my art in production.
The only downside to this set in my opinion, was the lack of Moe phrases. Duffman is cool, but they should have added more Moe as well.
I can't remember, but did the "Pickled Egg Jar" and "Flaming Moe" end up as accessories included with some figures?

Yeah, this one was one of my favorites because of the maddening amount of detail. And no, they didn't come as accessories for any sets. I was kind of bummed about that.

I thought they ended up making the "Pickled Egg Jar" and "Flaming Moe" as figure accessories, but I could never keep up with the retail releases - I was too busy working on the designs. Thanks for the info!

I know I'm late in the game but, they did made "Pickled Egg Jar" and "Flaming Moe" as figure accessories, for the huge Moe & Barney figures.
