To me the French make many ugly cars but then shock me with the occasional exceptionally beautiful car. I do rather like these cars shown here. I wish they'd come back to the U.S.

I wonder what is preventing them from entering the US market, I mean, you guys now have Italian (Fait 500 and Lancia Delta) but no Frenchy......

easy, low sales. French cars were overpriced as hell in America, especially Citroen.
not to mention they had a messed up parts network and if you needed something like say a windshield for a Peugeot 404, it would take you months just to get it from France. Peugeot's last hurrah was the 405 in 1991, Citroen pulled out in '74 and Renault pulled out once Chrysler bought AMC outright in the late 80's.

i wouldn't say its just Detroit. half the car manufacturers are going though what i call "a 2nd Malaise era", especially the Japanese these days.
and i found out that Infiniti will be introduced in Japan, so they're killing off the Skyline name...
