Description ahhh, the story of my life. i start a bajillion drawings and after an hour spent, or eight, working on it, i decide i hate it. this happens everytime. i either mess the drawing up, or didn't sketch well enough, or ruin the paper, or whatever. the list goes on and on.

i liked the reference pic a whole lot because of the focus lines and such, and the drawing really started to turn out well. i kind of felt like this one would actually be a nicely completed work of art, because i felt the need to actually follow it through. and then i started working on his shadowy out of focus neck, and it all went progressively downhill from there. i must have this complete and desireless unability to do blotchy, unfocussy shading. (you can tell my negative level of skill in this with the small area of shading between his face and hand.) and it's not like i didn't spend time on it, i did. too much probably. that just made it worse, and worse, and, if possible even worse, because i erased all the heavy graphite at least 4 times to start over, which then just utterly ruined the paper, and there is nothing i can do to fix it now.

so, once again, i have ruined a nice drawing and will never complete it, so this is all you get.
and also, his fingers, they look really odd. i compared it to the original via layering and it matched fine, but yet...... no. maybe it all began with the fingers, the fate of this drawing, in the far deep reaches of my mind.

(if this is a duplicate submission, sorry. something messy happened while uploading the file, which didn't go through, and now dA is going very slowly.)

This is fabulous! I think it looks a little more like Ryan Phillipe then Jude Law, but they have alot of the same traits. Very well done!

Amazing skills in the shading, and the not-so-beard effect very well achieved. But is a guy, so I won't fave it lol

wow this is weird because i was just attempting to draw jude law the other day. of course i failed miserably. it amazes me how all your drawings look so insainly realistic....even your unfinished ones!!

i see mine as a failure, i still don't know how to deal with pencil upon paper, if that makes any sense! i think i just get too forcefull and expect it to look okay. i'm crazy

Hey, the drawing might have problems, but you did some things exceptionally well, too, like the extremely smooth shading and the creases of his lips. You obviously have real skill. Be happy

I think this is a wonderfully skilled drawing. You did not mess up on the shading at all...the blurry shading just puts more of a focus on his features, especially his eyes, and helps it to stand out more...I honestly think it's wonderful...

well, i cut off the horrible shading incident so now one would see. but thank you! (if this is a duplicate response, sorry!)
