i've always liked this style of art so i figured i'd attempt to draw my own. i used inspirations from a number of things because i'm so utterly uncreative.i used prismacolors. i'm not all that used to colored pencils so some parts are kinda funky.
the scan i think made it worse in parts. the ring is more yellow/goldish, and the scales had more of a yellow highlight.
plus the fish looks like it's snarling... hrm...

The fish looks abit wide in the body but the colors and over all design are realy pleasing. I think you are onto something good here,keep at it!!!!!!
