Description And so Alice reminded me that I forgot all about her during Halloween and for that matter Halloween all together as I'm too old to go Trick-a-Treating and my ferocious chiguagua guard dog does a pretty good job of deterring people I don't know coming up to knock on my door ... except he can't  seem to keep Jehovah Witnesses away for some reason, and the other downside is that the local pizza place refuses to deliver due to my "BEWARE OF THE GUARD DOG" sign.

So what kind of a threat does a chiquaqua hold? Especially mine. He's smaller than most of the cats in the neighborhood (in fact some of them chase him rather than the other way around). He doesn't even have enough slobber to slobber you to death. Plus the only command he seems to obey is "FOOD". Did you know that chiquaqua's are good climbers? For some reason he's able to climb up to all the places where my old cat used to climb and sleeps in the same places. So he's the other culprit that's helping to destroy:

1. My scanner/printer
2. My $70.00 laptop travel case

For the record, neither my cat (who was a stray I adopted) nor my dog (who was given to me as his previous owner passed away and it was either me or the pound and I needed something to replace my cat which got hit by a car) are worth $70.00 since I got both of them free and both of them cost a fortune to feed as they only eat gourmet food and anything they can find near the dumpster ... not sure how that works. But I swear, if I put economy food in their bowls they won't eat it, yet they'll happily dig through the garbage for scraps.

Why am I even talking about pets? This was supposed to be about making complex shapes with SketchUp the easy way. Oh, well, Alice does a decent enough job with it so I'll leave it to her.

Cheers.

PS. If you want the cauldron ... Alice says to make your own as she ain't sharing hers.
PPS. Alice wanted to add a "so there" to the end of the last statement.

Alice says that "soup's up"; beats having any of that leftover in the fridge.

The Lord only knows what she's wanting to do with that cauldron now that she's discovered it's big enough to hold a turkey ...

pot roast ...

Actually I had a really BAD idea for a skit with this, so bad that I'm going to give it a pass ... >< ... Alice somehow manages to bring out the worse (as in wholly inappropriate for a polite audience) ideas in me for some reason.

SketchUp is great fun to work with. There's some excellent video tutorials on the basics of using this software on YT by the SketchUp Team. If you're new to modeling or the program go watch them. They are all less than 5 mins long but they'll give you all the know-how to use the program and start doing stuff with it really quickly.

Despite it's limitations (as it's an odd ball when it comes to 3D modeling programs) I really like SketchUp as it's easy to use (especially if you have a background with other 3D modeling programs). With SketchUp you can just build and it has built in AI to help with a lot of procedures so you don't for the most part even need a manual.

So THAT'S how you use the follow-me tool. I always wondered what that thing did.

The follow-me tool is SketchUp's lathing tool and is really powerful - it's also used to create spheres in SketchUp. More info here on this tool here: Tutorial - SketchUp - creating and mapping spheres
