how to make it circle?

Make one in a 3d modeling program and apply the effect to it.

This tutorial assumes that both the stage and the effect are .x files, correct? So how do I fix the drawing order if the stage is a .PMD or .PMX file?

Trackdancer In reply to fangirlotaku7 [2018-08-13 18:03:37 +0000 UTC]

Same principle applies; draw the mirror floor last. If you do not fully grasp how MMD calculates draw order, there are tutorials in my gallery explaining how it works.

is there a way to blur this reflection?

Trackdancer In reply to bl0gmOnKeY78 [2018-04-13 00:11:40 +0000 UTC]

Blur? No, but you can diminish the strength of the reflection by decreasing the Tr value of the mirror surface.

Umm... when I put the effect, it's not reflecting and the floor becomes grey...

Trackdancer In reply to Clem60 [2018-01-07 00:06:27 +0000 UTC]

That means your system doesn't support the effect, usually.

But I've got a new computer, much more powerfull than my other computer, and the effect worked on my other computer... I've got a OMEN by hp computer, if it can help.

The problem with most MME effects is that were written to work on the effect programmer's equipment and untested on other people's equipment. There's many possible causes why an effect may work on a majority of systems but not yours, regardless of the specs on your equipment. If an effect doesn't work, it could be because the hardware doesn't support it or more likely some software conflicts with it. It could also be a system setting, like how you configured your graphics card or display set up.

In your original post all you told me is only sufficient to tell me that your system does not support the effect. I don't know why it doesn't and without physical access to your hardware there's nothing more that I can do. For starters, there isn't even an error message and even if there was one, usually with MMD related error messages all they tell you is: "man, I can't deal with this"! Which helps no one figure out what the crap is going on.

On the plus side, it didn't crash your system as some MMEs have done on my system, ouch!

Point is that MMEs are "free", they are offered "as is; no guarantees or warranty implied". Great if it works, tough if they don't. When you pay for software, you have every right to expect that they work. This doesn't apply to freeware. These are offered purely on a "take it or leave it" basis.

You could try to contact the effect author for more assistance. Since they have access to the source code, they might have a better idea on why it isn't working. But, honestly, don't hold your breath if you want a positive outcome.

how do you combine the stage with the effect?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Trackdancer In reply to MomoChange [2017-11-24 01:34:25 +0000 UTC]

Hmm... I thought that it was explained in the tutorial. Obviously, my assumption was incorrect.

Answer:

1. Load the stage
2. Next load the effect
3. The rest is explained in the tutorial

Note: if the effect looks like a white square, unfortunately your computer does not support the effect. If the effect does work, it does so the moment it's loaded.

I've changed the Tr and Si to what you've done in the picture. But the effect is still just a mirror on top of the stage, it isn't transparent (I think) as it's only become a more lighter white (lighter as in, the reflection is still visible).  This might not help, but what do you mean by combine the floor and working floor?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Trackdancer In reply to River-Red-Blush [2017-05-16 17:11:29 +0000 UTC]

Sounds like you messed up on the model draw order. Make sure the mirror is drawn last.

Trackdancer In reply to LoneWolf363 [2018-06-24 04:39:37 +0000 UTC]

Do note that the effect that comes with my stages have been edited, so it will never reflect like a mirror.

Normally, it is set at 50% strength as otherwise, the floor texture under the mirror cannot be seen.

You need to change the Tr value of the mirror floor to make it transparent so that you can see the floor underneath the mirror - that's what this tutorial teaches, so just read it again.

Hi! Could you please help me?
Say we want to use an effect like Ghost/Hologram.. Do you know how one could make the WorkingFloor effect reflect the Ghost/Hologram one?

I hope this made sense.

Thank you!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Trackdancer In reply to jinz0u [2016-07-23 17:25:14 +0000 UTC]

Normally to put the working floor effect into a specific area you need to make a special template model for that area. This is how I do it for my stages. The process is actually very simple. Just create your template model in a 3D program and export it as a Direct-X x-file model. Just give it the same name as the working floor x-file and place it into the same folder as the original working floor x-file model. This will overwrite the original, so you might to either create a separate copy of the effect or move the original into a backup folder.

The effect is acting strange, can you help me? Everytime I load working floor or tk grid floor it works fine. But when I turn on add-sync it turns grey and when I try to make it transparent it turns white, but it still has a reflection. I don't understand what's wrong. I use the latest MMD and MME and my graphics card and computer are pretty strong and I checked the draw order, I loaded the floor last but it still has problems.

Excuse me, what is the add-sync button and where is it found in the program?
