Description
The next bishoujo in the sailor soldier paper series! -- finally.
I think for the sake of my sanity I will just stick with the simple starry background (it'll keep them all related anyway). NOW! Onto Mercury/Jupiter!

Do you happen to have a tutorial on how you go about making these? Do you use colored construction paper and just use marker to paint on the different values, or do you start with white as your basis and 'paint' them all?

I use solid color scrapbooking paper and/or acid free card stock. I then paint in the details with gouache paint (gouache can be as opaque as acrylic -- nice for highlights -- or watered down to work like water color -- nice for shadows).
I haven't made an actual paper crafting tutorial, though I think I should add it to my project list. I just haven't decided if I want to do a step-by-step photo tutorial or do a video recording. Very beautiful! The colors and textures look lovely. The design style is a little reminiscent of Mary Blair, a Disney conceptual artist back in the 40's and 50's. Very cool!
