Description
Prologue
It was a dark day across the Realms of
Dragons. All four of the dragon regions had been shrouded in
darkness ever since the rise of the evil purple dragon Malefor and
the disappearance of the legendary purple dragon Spyro, along with
the former queen of darkness, and terror of the skies Cynder. After
three years of being encased in crystal in a secluded area, Spyro and
Cynder resurfaced and vanquished the evil Malefor. Peace soon
settled across the land once again.
A couple of days later, all of the
dragons in all the regions gathered together in the Valley of Avalar
to mourn well over 250,000 dragons who had lost their lives in the
War of the Dragons. The dragon who cried the most for all of his
fallen comrades was the elder Fire Guardian of the Southern Dragon
Region: Solder, a bright red dragon with gold and silver stripes
running down his side and back, and is also a living icon in the
dragon world. He's got a wonderful grandfatherly personality, and
deeply cares for all who live in the region. Because of this, he is
loved by all, but he is also easily angered, and has a very nasty
temper.
One day when Solder was out on a
patrol with the other Elemental Guardians, he spotted a wounded
dragoness just outside the boundaries of the city. Being the
gentleman he is, he picked up the dragoness and took her to the local
healers, who made her better within a few hours. Later, Solder went
to check up on her, and discovered that she is the most beautiful
dragoness he had ever seen.
“Who are you?” the gentle
sky-blue dragoness asked.
“Solder's the name, ma'am. I
found you unconscious just outside the boundaries of the city, so I
brought you here so my healers could heal you.” he said.
“Oh!” said the dragoness,
“My name is Cloe”
“So Cloe” Solder asked on
a quiet evening when Cloe had recovered, “where you from?”
“I'm a wanderer” she said. “I have no place to
call home. Actually, you could say that the wilderness is my home,
because I go around, spreading wisdom and joy wherever I go,
especially in the forest. When you found me, I had been attacked by
a tribe of forest goblins who didn't take too kindly to my wisdom.
What about you Solder?”
“I've lived here all my life
Cloe. I am the Guardian of Fire of this region after all, and
Ignitus is my very best friend. One thing I should warn you about is
that I have a very short fuse and extremely bad temper, but otherwise
I'm like a grandfather to all who live here.”
Soon Solder and Cloe became
inseparable, and fell in love with each other over time, and then on
a bright and sunny day, Solder asked the big question “Will you
please be mine?” And Cloe said “Yes.” So years
pass, and they constantly kept in contact with the other Guardian
dragons in the other regions, including Ignitus, and the rest who at
the time had their hands full with the future Guardian candidates.
Even more years passed, and Cloe
eventually laid an egg containing their son.
They cared for the egg for several
weeks, but just one week before they expected the egg to hatch, the
town was attacked by a nearby tribe of barbarians. Despite their
efforts to stop them, they got through the defenses eventually
reaching Solder's cave. Solder and Cloe fought with all their might,
but it wasn't mighty enough. Finally in desperation for help, Solder
let loose a 100-foot pillar of fire, which was his way of calling for
help. He soon realized help would not arrive in time, and used every
last bit of his strength to let loose an ultra powerful Fire Fury,
which vaporized all the barbarians, however Solder was unable to
recover, and died. Cloe, who was fatally wounded from the attack,
had just enough strength left to write a note to whomever came to
help and stuck it with the egg. Then draped her body over Solder's
and waited for her inevitable death. She died with a smile, together
with her mate forever.
