Description
Behold! Another non-crossover "Thomas the Tank Engine" picture!
For those who don't know, this engine's name is Rosie. She is based on a Southern Railway USA Dock Tank, and was introduced in the Season 10 episode, "Thomas and the Birthday Mail". She didn't have much of a role, other than following Thomas. But she later had her own episode in Season 12, "Rosie's Funfair Special", in which another engine, Emily the Sterling Engine, had co-starred with her.
Personally, I feel that Rosie's character (specifically the fact that she idolized Thomas) could have been done better. There have been a number of fans of the show who feel that Rosie initially came across as a "stalker" towards Thomas... and I can see where they are coming from. So I'm trying to do my part in developing her (and some other HiT model era characters) for my own stories to something less bland and more likeable. Since Rosie, as stated above, based on a Dock Tank, she could have easily worked at a harbour. So I'm having her work on the harbour on Thomas branch line (seen in Season 2 episodes, such as "Thomas & Trevor"/"A New Friend for Thomas" and "Percy & Harold"/"Percy Proves a Point"; hey, I can dream, can't I?).
Here, Rosie's picking up trucks (British term for "Freight Cars") from the harbour to be loaded up.
Take note that while I'm American, I prefer to use British terminology for Thomas-related stuff since Thomas is a British show.
NOTES:
- Originally, this wasn't going to have a background, but then I decided to make it more on par with one of my previous Thomas-only pics.
- The houses in the background are based on models made by Sodor Island 3D. I thought it'd be nice to put them there.
- I've added "North Western" (for the railway) and a nameplate on each of Rosie's sides (while her name is hard to read, this is also the case with Bill and Ben's nameplates in the CGI era). Also, I haven't decided on a number for her, yet, because I've been having a hard time thinking about what order some of these TV-only engines could arrive. Then maybe I could finally get to work on my N.W.R. engine profiles (though I do intend to start some of them at least).
