Here's a fairly new (well, new at this point) character to accompany our one-and-only Cookie Monster! Meet Gonger, who to me basically resembles a significantly less creepy, and more friendly version of Gollum from "The Lord of the Rings", at least in voice. Gonger is a cook who helps Cookie Monster prepare different recipes for different people around the world in a segment called "Monster Foodies".From what I've noted, Gonger originated in the British "Sesame Street" spin-off, "The Furchester Hotel" (in which Cookie Monster and Elmo also appeared as regulars). Originally, he was just an extra, but had since become the main cook of the titular hotel. Since Season 48 of "Sesame Street", Gonger has joined the regular cast, starring alongside - you guessed it - Cookie Monster. So you can only guess that this is why I was so eager to draw him.
Overall, I hope that Gonger makes for an excellent regular in future seasons to the show.
