I used to think CGI was annoying, then I realized it's not so much the animation or effects you use as much as what you use them for.

I don't hate CGi (I used to, I just strongly prefer alternate methods of special effects. The "Burning of Atlanta" scene in "Gone with the Wind-1939" will be far more real than any CGI explosion or fire.
Some of my favorite movies are CGI heavy...especially "UP" (brilliant story AND use of CGI).
I just don't like the over abundance of CGI or poorly rendered CGI. I'm still not a fan of CGI characters in live-action movies. It's obvious that the character is a cartoon and takes me out of the world the movie is trying to establish. The costumes, masks, and actors of Star Wars will always be more magical than any CGI character.
