Description Achillobator giganticus ("Achilles' hero") is a massive dromaeosaurid (raptor) dinosaur, about 16 feet (5 metres) long, living in Central Asia in the Late Cretaceous. Like its relative cousins Deinonychus and Velociraptor, the Achillobator has a sickle-shaped claw on each foot. It was discovered in 1999, where the fossil bones of Achillobator were found mostly dis-articulated, but associated, including a fragment of the upper jaw with teeth, as well as vertebrae from all sections of the spinal column, ribs, and bones from the shoulder, pelvis, forelimbs, and hindlimbs. It was similar in size to the Northern American Utahraptor and was probably one of the most vicious hunters of its time. However, little is known about this new and unique dinosaur.

(I think I got its snout and lower jaw all wrong, particularly since I was working by memory only, without any references. Nevertheless, there isn't many bones to piece together exactly what the species exactly looked liked in the first place. Hey, I was bored in class! And I had to eke out the remaining ink from my highlighter when the ideas of "stripes" struck me.)

Medium - 6B graphite, highlighter yellow (Daniel, BIC).

Thank you! Glad you like it! Raptors were always my favourite family of dinosaurs (even before Jurassic Park).

Thank you. You know, I originally wanted to be a palentological artist/behaviourist when I grew up. But my biology grades sucked.

That is, like, a really musical name. Achillobator. Uh-kill-oh-bay-ter.
Achillobator! ACHILLOBATOR! Boy, I could go on for hours.
But I like the stripes- they add a lot of life. Like the sun was shining on its back.

Never through of it as sun. I did have light to shine on it, then it became stripes. Thank you so much.

I like dinasaurs, (tho i have no idea how to spell it). Ever since my family watched the 1st Jeurassic Park, we'd go up to our Oma's and Opa's and play 'Raptors and Hunters' and we'd make toy guns and try to get the raptors dead and we had a base... and I remember we were like,

''Bang I shot you!"
"No you didn't! Im against the tree, you can't see me."
"Oh, soory, pretend I didn't see you."

*dies*

I like the mark-making you applied to the drawing. It really gives texture to the scaly skin of the dinosaur. I don't think you need to make any changes on this drawing. I like it as it is.

Thank you. Appreciate it! I was a little apphrehsive about the "marky skin" because I thought it might ruin it. Glad you like it.
