The choice of colors and their placement is what makes this mandala special. It's hard to explain, but it has to do with the order and reverse order of the rainbow. In the center is the Flower of Life, using all colors in order and reverse order, and the four smaller Flowers of Life in the corners use different spectrums of the rainbow (i.e. red+orange+yellow combined with blue+indigo+violet). Like I said, it’s hard to explain, but it makes it naturally aesthetic and can easily put you into a comfortable meditative state simply by gazing at it for a few moments

Thanks I thought it was slow haha! It probably would have been a little quicker if I didn't have to go over each line multiple times to get the color down nicely.

Wonderful! You did this all traditional hand-drawn?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

TravisAitch In reply to JoanmarieA [2012-09-19 23:06:25 +0000 UTC]

Thank you! And yes, all hand-drawn traditionally. One of these days I'd like to be good enough to make them as detailed as some of the digitally-created mandalas.
