Charlie is a cool type of person with friendly tendencies but lacks regard for authoritative rules.

- Charlie has no qualms about striking up a conversation with a complete stranger, and can easily make friends where there wasn't before. Extremely sociable, she talks to people with familiarity, as though they are already friends. Others may find this strange, but she doesn't particularly care what people think of her and does whatever makes her happy. On this same note, she pursues what brings her happiness (dancing) with energy and a one-track focus, and likes to show it off proudly.
- Outside of her interests, Charlie often comes off as a slacker due to her relaxed attitude to pretty much everything. Her grades aren't bad per se, but it's no big deal if she doesn't get 100% or straight As either. This easy-going trait extends to confrontation as well, as she likes to keep herself on the sidelines out of the fray of conflict. She won't side with anyone but give vague responses in an attempt to stay on everyone's good side.

The loud bass reverberates through your chest, through your bloodstream, and pumps into your heart, into your soul. The crowd's going wild as you hear your name called out, their hands up in the air, cheering as you take your position before your opponent.
Record scratch. The track is changed. He sizes you up, acts tough then bust his moves on the floor. Twisting and turning to the beat of the song. Pacing around with the rhythm, you watch him display his skills, mock you, show off, and express his creativity in the heat of battle. You're grinning inside, you wanna join the crowd hyping it up-- but you keep a disinterested expression, shake your head like this guy ain't got nothin' on ya.
And once you notice his time is almost up, you charge into the dance floor with the energy you've been holding back. Aggressively and confidently like a bull towards a red flag.

Born in Thailand but made in England. Charlie's mother ran away from her home country and immigrated to England to escape a suffocating family when Charlie was only 5. For the formative years of her life, Charlie's mother worked hard as a nurse to bring her up as a single parent.
She was often left in the care of her primary school guidance counsellor who went above and beyond to help their small struggling family. This guidance counsellor became very close friends with her mother, and even closer still... becoming more than friends by the time Charlie was 15 (it was a slow-burn romance). Now she has a happy family of two mothers and a younger step-sister by three years.
When she isn't babysitting her younger sister, Charlie's out in the streets of London, where she discovered the world of street dance and met her friends who taught her everything she knows. Gaining a passion for dancing, mainly for breakdance, she trained every day, watched videos on youtube to learn from the masters, danced with her friends in cyphers and in local competitions to improve her skills. She's been dancing for 5 years now, but she's starting to gain recognition amongst their small community.
Upon being accepted to Crowhaven:
After secondary school, Charlie took a gap year to give herself more time to think about what she wants to do in the future. Worried about the costs, and the debt she'd be living with afterwards, she was conflicted with the idea, despite how much her mother wanted her to go so she could have a 'brighter future.' She was comfortable at her part-time job and liked being able to help support their household... until she received the acceptance letter mailed along with her blood test results.
When did she apply to this?
Staring at the piece of paper, she reads through it calmly, several times. Turns over the page, looks into the envelop as if there'd be anything more. It seemed legit.
This prestigious University was offering her a scholarship... this would solve all of her problems! And yet... there was a moment of hesitation. This is too good to be true, this is kind of sus--
Before she could think further her stepmother had leaned over her shoulder, and upon reading the first few lines, was overcome with excitement. After that, it was a blur of congratulations, excited screaming and a party inviting all of their friends.
Too late to back out now.
- Estranged from her extended family and culture, they visited Thailand once after her mothers got together. It was there she learned about the Phaya Naga, a mythical serpent who serves as a protector, as they sit on the roofs of temples. Enamoured with the tale and with a desire to connect with her roots, she tattoos the Naga on her left shoulder.
