Just a quick painting, to get back into painting.I know that I vanished at the end of Chop to the Top OCT, and after all that story, I didn't post an ending...
To be perfectly honest, I messed up in a couple of places in the story and it threw off my ability to build up properly to the end. I couldn't write a version of the final round that I was happy with. I'm nowhere near done with this project, however. I've kept working at things and fixing the story, and now that the tournament is over I've even run around asking for permission to make spinoffs of everyone's characters and the world so Amihan's story can finally be completed... as a polished, standalone tale. It will take a long time, but I've fallen in love with this project and plan to see it through to its end. I hope that a few of you will stick along for the journey ~

Nice. I was very hurt (no offense) when you ended the story before it was done. Very glad to see you're still working on it. Mind if I post some theories on how I thought it might end?

Ha, ha, cool. So, this one's gonna be a doozie, and MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR THE STORY SO FAR for everyone just scrollin' through. Here we go!
Eating the moonhen meat will probably give all of Amihan's buddies the insatiable desire to eat her. The baddies are probably going to attempt to murder Bill, which may or may not be successful. A darker alternative would be the baddies trying to force-feed him Amihan's blood so he'll turn against her.
Basically, the baddies are trying to destroy all the things Amihan loves in the world so she'll be more eager to destroy it. Amihan will turn into a big angry monster, deciding perhaps that life itself is inherently cruel and try to wipe it from existence, since living things must commit the sin of feeding on each other in order to survive. If not that grand, it could be destroying all animals (since plants feed on water and sun) or all food magic, or killing the gods (for making such a cruel world). Of course, this doesn't account for the possibility of someone else trying to brainwash her and/or harness her power. Alternatively, the dish she prepares for the gods may poison them.
So, Ken's doing all these bad things since for some reason (whether he made a deal with some devil or Amihan destroying the moon destroys food magic) it will break his family's curse. This backfires when his family leaves him upon learning that he'd rather destroy the world than accept his family the way they are. If the curse is broken by this point, his now-human kids could say that they preferred being dogs, or worse, GO INSANE FROM THE MENTAL TRAUMA OF HAVING THEIR DOG MINDS TURNED INTO THOSE OF PEOPLE. (An english teacher might read this as social commentary of society's treatment of autism, but that's beside the point.) If Ken doesn't get depressed and/or kill himself after this, he'll most likely switch sides and try to save the world, since why should the world die in vain?
Or maybe the baddies are fantasy PETA terrorists that want to punish everyone for eating meat.
There are a lot of ways it could go from here. Worst-case scenario: Amihan successfully kills everyone, ending this cautionary tale of the cruelty of meat-eating.
Alternatively, everyone gangs up to stop her. They may have to kill her, they may talk her out of it, they may trick her into eating something that restores her to normal. Ken will probably know what to do, and he may sacrifice himself.
The end scenario could also go several different ways. Food magic might end (resulting in tearful goodbyes for people like say, Cookie). Society may have to rebuild itself, with Amihan and/or Bill (if they survive) joining the government and providing a crackdown on making sure sapient beings don't get eaten, and that animals that do get used for meat (assuming the world doesn't go vegan) are treated as humanely as possible. If Amihan doesn't join the government, she could become a wanderer, breakin' out illegal meat animals and spreading veganism.
If Ken survives, the gods could, as punishment, a second chance, or both, turn him and his family completely into full dogs. If his family still doesn't accept him, he could become Amihan's pet or something.
These aren't perfect, of course. They don't account for the ghost kid or a bunch of the other characters.
If you're worried that I guessed some things early, just remember that and interesting though predictable plot is better than throwing everything away for the sake of a dumb, shocking twist.

Oooohhhhhhhohohohoho, this post gives me LIFE!
I can't tell you whether or not you're right, but I will say you're very sharp, and you're catching themes I was throwing in there splendidly.
Also, thank you so much for taking the time to comment in this picture--I was't sure if people cared that I was working on the story anymore, and this exchange has refilled me with passionate determination!! I'm currently smoothing out the elements of the story that weren't standalone before, so the other contestants have enclosed arcs within Ami's tale; and I'm also working on improving my art skills so the comic can look better in general.
I'll be sure to post non-spoilery updates as they're done, while I get ready to start making pages again!

Great! Glad to know I made you happy! Are you vegan, by any chance? I'm not vegan (though your story makes me feel a pang of sadness whenever I see something that looks like a cooked moonhen). I was just wondering if you were vegan or if you just thought it would be interesting if you submitted a story about a character made to be eaten in a food-based OCT.
Also, sorry to be a nasty old narcissist, but do you want to check out my art? It involves a Chinese gluttony monster and some alien slimes based on the unicorn food trend, if that piques your fancy.

Haha, I actually love meat! XD It's more the second thing--I wrote Amihan as a food species because I thought it would be interesting with the cooking theme, and because I originally wanted to write a story about a very sympathetic villain. Getting Bill for my first opponent was a big surprise and really pushed the vegan theme hard for the rest of the tale! I do think it's very important to remember that living things die to give us meat, though, so we shouldn't overindulge.
I did peek at your art, actually! The gluttony monster is super cool--I love the shapes in their design!! I might have to research them later actually...
