Description Tropeognathus mesembrinus
Named by Peter Wellnhofer, 1987 (Under Ornithocheirus)
Diet: Piscivore (Fish)
Type: Ornithocheirid pterodactyloid pterosaur
Size: 27 foot (8.2 meter) wingspan
Region: South America (Brazil)
Age: Early Cretaceous (112 to 108 million BC; Early Albian)
Enemies/Rivals: Ground-dwelling theropod dinosaurs such as the 26-foot (8-metre) spinosaurid Irritator (a tooth of a spinosaurid, possibly from Irritator, was found embedded in the neck vertebrae of a pterosaur found in the Santana Formation, Brazil, but its unknown whether it hunted and killed it, or scavenged on an already dead animal); large marine reptiles such as Kronosaurus when it flies into the ocean to hunt fish; youngsters would've been softer targets to the notosuchian, Araripesuchus gomesii; adults would've competed for fish with other fish-eating pterosaurs of the Santana Formation, such as Anhanguera and Cearadactylus.
Episode: Giant of the Skies (as Ornithocheirus)
Info: One of the largest pterosaurs (only rivaled by the much larger, later azhdarchids such as Quetzalcoatlus and Hatzegopteryx) and the largest of the toothed ornithocheirids, Tropeognathus had a wingspan around 27 feet (8.2 meters) and it flew over the shallow seaway of what is now Brazil, during the Early Cretaceous period, hunting and catching unwary fish using its beak, lined with sharp, interlocking teeth. Its characterized of having a rounded crest at the tip of both upper and lower toothed beak that would've brightly colored and used to attract mates and ward off rival males.

Note:Β Based on skeletal reconstruction by Mark P. Witton, as well as the flying one done by Mark P. Witton's illustration of Anhanguera.

Well its been such a long time waiting, huh?!

So after a busy birthday and Christmas I've had in 2016, I've finally made and posted the sky king, even though its not the largest pterosaur, nor the largest flying animal as what the original show claims! Also first work of 2017

In the original WWD, the tale of that old one's final journey in life was a real tear-jerker, for they gave a nameless, non-anthropomorphic character we could sympathize for (though they should have some minor degrees of self awareness).

This is an awesome piece of art.

Also, I won't lie when I say that a part of me died on the inside when I saw the Goant of the Skies pass away.

All that is left is the Argentinosaurus, Iguanodon(South American), Pternodon and Giganotosaurus.

Just FYI, the Iguanodont featured on that Walking With Dinosaurs episode wasn't a straight-up "Iguanodon". They never identified it, but the name of the iguanodont in question is actually named "Macrogryphosaurus", however, they never specified the iguanodont's real name at any point in the episode.Β

I've seen Monsters Resurrected and I noticed that it was exaggerated as many people say!

Yeah I saw Mega Predators and it was good! Though I felt sorry for the dog getting yelped and killed by a Titanis in a suburban street in Los AngelesΒ
